Sounds great. Ask for me and I'll personally show you around the brewery. We just ordered our equipment today!

Whats the huge draw for "going pro"?

It is getting closer every day. It has been a gigantic challenge to this point but everything is moving forward. We're renovating an 1880s building and will be ordering equipment shortly. We personally hope to open this summer sometime but that's far from certain. You can check out what we're...

Brew Pal software in the iTunes App Store

Is there any way at all to transfer a beerxml from a friend's brewpal to my brewpal without having to screw with a PC? He can email his beerxml to my email, where I can open it on my phone...however, I can't open it via brewpal like I'd like. Any answers here?

Whats the huge draw for "going pro"?

Here's a bit of a different take: I am currently a brewer in the midwest. I worked in the finance industry for 3 years right out of college and hated it almost immediately. After 3 years I was laid off during the big financial crisis thing that was sort of a big deal. During my...

Using Citra with the other C's in a DIPA?

Thanks. I'd love to know where you went with each hop if it isn't any real trouble.

Using Citra with the other C's in a DIPA?

Has anyone had any experience using citra along with cascade, centennial, and chinook? I formulated a brew using those 4 hops and would love any thoughts on using those 4 hops together in a big double IPA.

Beer Review: Young's Double Dark Chocolate Stout

Whoops...I wrote it on my phone while I was out. I reread the thing a few times and have NO idea how I didn't catch 'thong' instead of thing. Thanks for pointing it out. Also, I just noticed the picture was much too large when posted on a phone. I made it smaller now that I have access to a PC.

My Double Dark Chocolate Stout recipe...thoughts?

I may add some additional cocoa powder and some creme de cacoa to the secondary to get some additional cocoa flavor and aroma...not yet sure though.

My Double Dark Chocolate Stout recipe...thoughts?

I bought some chocolate that had 5 small bars...total weight of all 5 bars was 4.4oz total. I boiled them for 55 minutes to try and mitigate any issues with the fats in the bar. Its definitely not a scientific thing. I just figure boiling dark chocolate for 55 minutes wouldn't change the...

My Double Dark Chocolate Stout recipe...thoughts?

I brewed this yesterday and fully documented my brew day and how I did my cocoa additions on my blog at: http://thebrownbottle.wordpress.com . What do you think about my recipe? I've been doing research on everything and this is what I came up with. Recipe Type: All Grain Yeast: Nottingham...

Mashing Chocolate (The food, not the malt)

I plan on doing a chocolate stout for my next brew and keep going back and forth on what I plan to do. I've considered using extract and creme de cacao in addition to a nice helping of cocoa powder.

    Simcoe APA

I've had an all simcoe just once in the Weyerbacher Double Simcoe IPA..I got a bit of citrus like aroma with a light pine flavor. Overall an excellent beer.

    OMG $600 bucks in a month -_-!

Yeah, it should have been much cheaper unless you're going for the top line stuff like a large Blichmann kettle.

Can I use table sugar to correct my low SG

I'd let it go. It'll be something you can drink and probably enjoy. The alcohol content shouldn't be a huge issue, especially for a solid summer brew.
