I think the film I described is from the glue on the labels themselves. I will use my 6.5 gallon bottling bucket and fill it and remove a case or two of labels...That probably gets a little gummy in the solution.

Beat me to it. Exactly what I did. I had an ugly film on mine after an Oxy_clean bath but after a quick dip in a starsan bath, that came off with no effort at all and I had clean sanitized bottles.

So after another week in primary, it stayed at 1.032. Again, the sample tasted GREAT..i mean GREAT. Now it is in the bottles. I'm excited.

I agree this place far and away educates me and is a great resource. But I want to believe a LHBS would be helpful, knowledgable and courteous. After all, more homebrewers mean more sales for them right? DUMB

I have had my Russian IP Stout in the fermenter for 9 days. Took my first reading and it too is at 1.032. The sample tasted very good. I will leave it for another week, test it again. If I see no drop, I will maybe leave for a third week, then bottle. I'm not worried about a FG that high.

Yep. I made a dunkelweizen and after 4 days in the bottle, I wanted to try one...Was really bitter. I cracked one last night, and it was MUCH better...Still a little bitter, it needs some more conditioning time, but I could taste the potential!
