    If you think you had problems with this brew you will be way in over your head with all grain brewing better stick with extract for a little while just hone you skills more you have to walk before you run...

    I never see anything going on in the bottles no bubbles or anything they always carb up so dont worry just keep them around 70deg.

    Full boil question

    I start out with 6 1/2 gal and end up with just over 5 gal that gives me 5 gal when I rack to secondary. hope this helps

    Adding water to a 2 day wort

    Boil a half gallon of water and cool it and add to the fermenter you wont water it down any your just going to put the org gravity where its suposed to be

    Do all extract kits have a similar taste?

    [I]ve brewed 5 batches pale ales. amber ales. and irish red all with diffrent amount of hops but they all tast pretty much the same also I was hopeing for more diff flavor from each Im not tasting any twang its just that their all pretty much the same.

    Look on ebay I got a 40 qt pot with encapsuled bottom s/s brand new for 40 bucks. If you buy a thin bottom pot youll be sorry starting from the first brew

    I would never drink that brew you want to get sick? mold is bacteria its not worth risking besides it will be in the back of your head whats in the bottle everytime you crack one open.

    If you fermented at 60 then it will carb at 60 may take a couple extra weeks past the 3 week norm

    Sigh...1.038 after 18 days of fermentation

    You have the wrong refractometer you need one that reads brix. Im a mechanic and have a refractometer for reading battery acid gravity and antifreeze but I cant use it for beer will not measure sugar content.
