local store has stainless 12" mesh domed splatter screens for cheap, are these an effective false bottom, does anybody use them? i have seen some with the punched holes but havent heard much about the screen ones.. will be using in a 48qt igloo ice cube mash tun.

i know it is subject to what you like to brew/drink. what i'm trying to get at is a list of grains to keep on hand to do a decent variety, then pick up some specialty items in smaller amounts when necessary. or just post what you keep on hand and i'll figure it out from there.. Slainte:mug:

currently building my MLT out of a 48 quart igloo ice cube, one with flat bottom inside and no spigot. since i can drill anywhere i want for the outlet, was wondering if it was worth getting a premade false bottom for it. will a round false bottom be a problem in a square cooler?

switched to kegging saved enough for a couple batches, the rest gotta go. have 150+- all cleaned and delabled, mainly sam adams, 8 grolsh green swingtops, the rest assorted all brown. and 12 guinness extra stout. Bottles are free however i always except samples of others homebrew.:mug:
