Thanks to the B-fessor and all the posters, killer thread. Tapped this last week but needed to mellow a bit. Pretty solid now but definitely some improvements in my process I need to make. Followed the original recipe as close as I could. Missed my target OG. Came in at 1.048. and added a half...

    Reverse Osmosis (RO) question

Have to ask a stupid question but I feel like i'm missing something really obvious in all the RO discussion I've read here... Is the only way to get RO water to buy a filtration system? Looking at some of the recommendations it seems like the most inexpensive is 100+ bucks but given the...

Imperial Stout Rapture Russian Imperial Stout

I think I'm being dense here but could you elaborate on the yeast? I'm reading in your original post... "Yeast: Wyeast 1764 PacMan Yeast Starter: 1.5 quart slurry Additional Yeast or Yeast Starter: 1.5 quart slurry Wyeast 1275 Thames Valley" ...and a bit further down "yeast: 1275". Did you...

    Wort chiller or plate chiller?

I'm looking to upgrade to a plate from an immersion (took me almost 60 gallons -...

    Boston Area Cider Makers

I'm in Abington. Made my first 1 gallon test batch this weekend with UV pasteurized I got from CN Smith farms in Bridgewater so I don't really have any notes to share just yet. I did add a full packet of US-04 while not thinking; hoping I don't have any "lessons learned" to share in a few months.

New to posting but spend way too much time here when at work. You are in the RIGHT place for advice the guys/girls rule. "Finished" my keezer over the weekend. As a self confessed DIY noob a few lessons I learned... Seriously consider putting casters (wheels) on it if you don't already...
