    Bottling apfelwein question

What kind of half gallon jugs did you use? If they're similar to milk jugs, then they are not rated for pressure. If you want to carbonate it, put it in plastic soda bottles. Sometimes I just buy some 2 liter bottles of store-brand seltzer, poor it down the drain, then reuse the bottle.

    Making my kegerator

I painted part of my kegerator with chalkboard paint. No prep work at all and it came out great. I had to do two coats for it to get good coverage, but I'm happy with the results. As far as cleaning, a moist paper towel takes the chalk right off.

I bought the Buddy Christ statue years ago from here. To turn it into a tap handle, I removed the blue base the he stands on, then drilled a hole in the bottom of his robe, and glued a 3/8 16 nut in there. Sometimes I like to remind my more religious family members that Jesus made wine...

For what it's worth, it was a very cheap, low-quality guitar. A family member found it in a closet in their house and gave it to me a while back. I figured that a few people would probably be distraught to find that I cut up a guitar and a 24" stainless drip tray. :D

Finally got around to adding a drip tray. A friend found the grate and gave it to me, then I cut up an old guitar that I had lying around. Once I removed some of the inner bracing from the guitar, the grate slid right over it.

    Chi Company Economy Mini-Reg ?

It says it only goes up to 100psi, so I wouldn't use it as a primary

    Waterproof Foam Sealant

Great Stuff is "water resistant." Not sure if it would work out if it were completely submerged, but I've seen people do some crazy stuff with it. I'm sure someone out there has tried it.

What do you carry your carboys in?

Before I got my hands on a milk crate, I just put the carboy in my brew pot, then used that to carry it out to my ferm chamber in the garage.

    Potential Used Freezer Purchase

$35 for a freezer that size? Yeah, I think I'd try to clean it out for that price. If you can't get it cleaned up, then you're only out $35, or you might be able to sell it to someone else.

By "Heavy beer drinkers" do they mean "fat people who drink beer," "people who drink heavy beers," or "people who drink a lot of beer?":drunk:

    Cheap Glass Carboy

I ordered one on March 5 and it came in yesterday (March 16) so the wait time is much shorter than advertised. I can also say that they seem to have improved their packaging versus what people were reporting the last time they went on sale. Mine was packed something like this: Carboy > wrapped...

    South Florida Beers

I have to back up what everyone is saying about Cigar City. I've also found that although Florida is almost a complete wasteland for craft beer, the liquor stores and grocery stores on the coast tend to have much better selections.

    Cheap Glass Carboy

I just ordered one last week. There was a thread on here a couple months back where some other guys bought them. Everyone seemed to be happy with it.
