    CO2 Tank safety

How is it bad news? We have had 50lb CO2 tanks leak their entire contents in our lab over two days (on multiple occasions) because people don't know how to put a regulator on and no one had any issues other than being pissed the tank was empty...

    Must Go Places in Nashville

Not sure if it's your thing, but there is a kick ass restaurant called Husk located near downtown http://www.husknashville.com/ . It's a bit spendy and I felt a bit out of place, but I took my parents there last month and we all agreed it was one of the best meals we have ever had.

    Cost of Secondhand Brewing Equipment

Agreed. I always inflate my bottom line price by 50% to account for the Craisglist lowball. The offers I got for my car when I was selling it were entertaining to say the last. I wanted to get 3500 out of it, so I listed it at 5k... got offers from 1200 to 2200 for the damn thing. Ended up...

Frigidaire Model FRC445GB Mini-Fridge Kegerator Conversion

I pulled the drain plug and filed it a little bit to slip the CO2 line through the hump. Seemed to work well enough for me.

The remaining items have been moved to a new thread with a more appropriate title.

Tennessee Free Homer Buckets (with some old grains)

The buckets and grain are spoken for.

Tennessee Free Homer Buckets (with some old grains)

Sorry, this is only useful for local guys (Nashville, TN). I'm moving to a much smaller apartment and need to get rid of some extra grain before I move in 2 weeks. The grain I have was purchased between October of 2011 and March of 2012 and either vacuum sealed or sealed in a turkey bag and...

Does kegging really save any time?

Same here. It is also worth noting that the actual work being done when I do this totals about 5 minutes. Most of it is waiting for the PBW to do it's thing and for the racking to finish. I end up clipping my auto siphon and do something else in the kitchen until I need to manipulate the siphon...

Tennessee Downsizing my brewery, need to sell some stuff (mostly local pickup only)

Both are still available. I want to confirm that you know both need a little TLC to get up and running. If you are OK with that, I can do 32 shipped in a medium flat rate box (perhaps a bit cheaper with other options depending on where it ships to). Shoot me a PM with you zip code and I'll see...

Tennessee Downsizing my brewery, need to sell some stuff (mostly local pickup only)

I do have the mill. Wish I didn't have to get rid of a lot of this stuff, but my new apartment doesn't have 2 extra closets for all my brewing stuff.

Someone beat you with PM. I'm gonna give them 24 hours to respond/pay and you are next in line.

The not so great debate about steeping grains

You get flavor and color out of specialty grains. I'd venture a guess and say if you brewed a doppelbock or stout without specialty grains, you would be very disappointed with the results.

Can 11.5 gallons of wort be boiled in a 13gallon pot?

In my experience hop additions case some issues with boil overs. Be extra cautious when you add the hops.

    Why not, conceptually?

I'm not sure what you would accomplish doing that. Ale yeast is intended to produce a more esters and lager yeast is intended to produce clean flavor profiles. If you did it, my guess would be the ale yeast character would dominate.
