    Why would he have bombs? Surely all the yeast has left to eat in the bottles is the priming sugar?

    It sounds like it would just be clumps of the yeast cake due to the huge ratio of trub to beer... Did you taste it? If it is infected you will know when you taste it!! Best thing to do would be take them into work and give them to a work colleague :p
