So you're saying beer judging is subjective

Beer comps are a crap shoot. It doesn't surprise me reading the comments about different scores, gushing bottles, etc. I've done plenty of competitions when I first started but was quickly turned off by the subjective nature of the judging. I realize that everyone's pallet is different, but...

    Washington PicoBrew w/ 2 Kegs and 3 Pico Packs - $600

Hi all, Selling an almost brand new PicoBrew Pico with 2 serving kegs and 3 pico packs (Fire in the Rye). Machine has been used about 5 times and includes the sous vide adapter. Awesome machine, just not for me. Located in Monroe, WA - so local pickup only, I don't want to ship it...

    PicoBrew Zymatic

You get a bit of foaming from the pillar, but by the time it's done chilling nothing foams over. The pillar is a fantastic addition to the Zymatic!

New Custom Mash Paddle - Shout Out

I was in the market for a new mash paddle, but wanted something that was unique. I searched Etsy and came across Andrew Foote, who had a battleaxe mash paddle for sale. I emailed him and asked him if he would be interested in making a custom sword/dragon themed paddle, he said it sounded like...

Brew system to potential pilot brewery system

Sounds like a great set up! Post some pics when you have it all up and running. I know a lot of people like gas and get some great results, but going all electric is really a great choice. For fermenters, Stout Tanks, and SSbrewtech make some great options, just depends on what size you need.

Brew system to potential pilot brewery system

Yep, for mine, I had to have an electrician install a 240v outlet in my garage. Lucky for me, my friend is an electrician so he did it for a case of homebrew. Lots of all electric information here on the forums, but I couldn't be happier going that route. You could check out the folks at...

Brew system to potential pilot brewery system

I had a local welder build me a SS brew stand for fairly cheap ($450). I used to brew with propane but the cost was adding up, so I took the plunge and went all electric and could not have been happier. To answer your question, I would look into Kal's pre built control panel, and you could...

    Your worst beer comp score

I entered a coconut stout into a local comp, which I thought was a fantastic beer. It tasted close to maui coconut, heavy aroma of coconut, smooth taste. I pretty much drank half the keg before I put them into bottles. So I bottled 12 up, submitted them to the competition. When I got the score...

National Homebrew comp...what are you entering?

I have a beer gun, and I prefer the above method, it's actually alot faster than hooking up the beergun. I've entered several beers in comps w/o any issues on carb or oxidation.

    Roll the dice?

I say roll the dice, chances are that if you do enter a beer and it isn't carbed, you'll lose points. On the positive side, they could be just fine and you win and or come away with some great notes from the judges.

    uncarbed Imp Stout

I actually like the chart, and it's pretty clear! Nice art work!

Where is the best place to buy ingredients on the web?

Austin Homebrew is where I get 90% of my grains etc. They have great customer service and everything I brew from them turns out great.
