    Brewmasters Warehouse

So I received the package that had been cancelled in February and yep they screwed it up too. I had ordered 3 beers worth of grains, a carboy cleaner and some other miscellaneous stuff. So what came in the 4" square box? 1 pound of naked oats and some PH strips. I am in total shock at the...

    Brewmasters Warehouse

I received an e-mail today that my order has shipped. Only problem is I ordered it in January and cancelled it in February. I didn't follow up with my credit card, but it doesn't look like they ever cancelled it, as I requested. Of course I hadn't heard anything from them in the 2 1/2 months...

    Meyer lemon zest?

I followed Biermuncher's recipe below and used Myer Lemons instead of the oranges and used WLP400 for the yeast. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f14/just-another-brew-day-pics-99893/

    Meyer lemon zest?

I added them with 5-10 minutes left in the boil. Didn't dry the zest out, just added it fresh.

    Brewmasters Warehouse

Just cancelled my order. Placed it on 1/20 and ordered a couple of beers to brew for St Patty's day. I'll be going local to try and get something to brew for it now. My local store doesn't carry all the grains I like to use, but a month of waiting is way to long. 2 days after placing my...

    Phoenix Group buy on grain

I'm interested in getting in on a group buy. I also live in North Central Phoenix and haven't joined one of the homebrew clubs do to their locations. Would love to see one get started around us.

    Tips on Wood Aging.

I would oak first, add the coffee when bottling. Vanilla will depend, if you are using beans then I would add them after oaking but before bottling. If you are adding extract then add it with the coffee at bottling.

    Bru'n Water v 1.12 Posted

Excellent work! Only thing I would like to see would be the final ending or total (mash + sparge) water profile for the batch to go along with the final mash water profile that is already there. I like to see where all my numbers finish up but if I enable the CAs04 and CACL to replace chalk &...

How many gallons of homebrew in 2011?

    70 gallons for me this year Total 49529.5 + 70 = 49599.5

Full 4 gallon mash possible + water =5g?

I do that all the time. I can only get about 5 gallons to boil on my stove. I usually end up topping off with 1.25 to 1.5 gallons of water to get to 5.25 total gallons in my carboy. I still end up about 70% efficiency. I do wonder how good my efficiency would be if I could boil it all and...

Looking for cola recipe using Kola Nut

Just saw that Homemade Soda Company (formerly Hop Tech) has one called Kool Kola that says it is derived from the Kola nut. Never tried it though.

    Who's recipes are your favorite?

Voted for Biermuncher. Love his OctoberFast and Your WitNess and currently have Centennial Blonde, Ode to Arthur, and Outer Limits IPA on Tap. Cream of Three Crops is kegged and ready to go too.

brewing ten gallons with 6 gallons boil pot

I do all grain partial boils. I usually do 5.25-5.50 batches. I do 4.75 - 5 gal. boils and top off with about 1.5 gallons of water. I get about 70% efficiency usually but do need to adjust my hops. I use beersmith and find that it works pretty well at calculating the amount of hops I need...

    Meyer lemon zest?

I did a 5 gallon batch of Biermuncher's Your WIT-ness using the zest off 4 meyer lemons from my back yard. Turned out awesome. Probably the best wit beer I've made and I've done alot of them. Just about all my wife drinks.

    phoenix water profile 5-6-2008

I live in Phoenix and always use bottled water with brewing salts. I've also heard the water always changes and it's never very good. Would love to be able to use tap water though.

Can you partial boil All Grain?

Good Luck. I actually only tried BIAB a couple of times, always do the partial boils though. Think I got 58% efficiency once and 80% the next doing BIAB. I now use an old cooler I converted into a 52q mash tun. Seems to be pretty consistent and can mash more than I can boil. lol

Can you partial boil All Grain?

I think my crush is a little more fine than from the local store. I bought a feeler gauge and adjusted my mill to .039 inches.
