Where to drink in Puerto Vallarta

The weather was outstanding. Only two cloudy days and no rain! At Hacienda Alemana they have a buffet on Wednesdays and Saturdays. All you can eat, plus all you can drink draft (Corona and Negra Modelo) for $225 pesos. Great deal! http://haciendaalemana.com/ They're on Basilio...

Where to drink in Puerto Vallarta

Just got back and it was awesome! We stayed at Hacienda Alemana. They have a great restaurant and a selection of German bier - the owner, Michael, said he likes to keep about 6 German selections but that they change occasionally as distributors go in and out of business. Here's what was...

Where to drink in Puerto Vallarta

Wifey and I are headed to Puerto Vallarta at the end of next month. We'd like to know if we can grab some craft beers in town, or a maybe just a good bar. Anyone got the scoop for us?

    Star San and Silgranit

That's what I did, but then I dumped the Star San into the sink when I was done with it and it didn't seem to have any effect on the finish of the sink.

    Star San and Silgranit

We got a new sink a couple of weeks ago and are getting ready to brew some beer today, however I am wondering if I need to be concerned about Star San staining the sink. Is there anyone out there that has a silgranit sink? Have you had a pool of Star San sitting in it? Should I be concerned?

Full boils on the stove top

Awesome idea! :mug: I could get a 7+ gallon pot and do 1/2 in there and 1/2 in the pot I already have.

Full boils on the stove top

Thanks for the replies! Our stove is gas, 4 burners with 9" (on center) between the front and back burners and only 17" between the burners and the microwave that's directly above it. The stove is GE, but I think the canning element is for electric stoves. I did a quick search on "hotstick"...

Full boils on the stove top

My wife and I have been doing partial boils (about 2.5-3 gallons) and would really like to step up to full boils, but we live in a condo and don't think it would be wise to put a banjo burner on our balcony. Before I drop some serious money on a 7 gallon pot I wanted to find out if anyone has...

    Haier NuCool for fermentation

I've had my 5 gallon glass carboy in there and it fits fine, maybe an inch or two clearance with a three piece airlock. But I'm very curious as to if/how a 6.5 gallon glass carboy fits.

    Haier NuCool for fermentation

I cut the shelves out of the door and put a batch (in a bucket) in on Sunday. Seems to be working quite well so far. Has anyone tried putting a 6.5 gallon glass carboy in one of these yet? Hows that fit?

    Slow start for fermentation

Thanks for the replies. I'll just cool my heels until tomorrow and hope for the best! edit: Got home tonight and it's chugging away. Pfew!

    Slow start for fermentation

We brewed on 9/20, pitched at about 4:30 and as of this morning there's still no activity. The smack pack (Wyeast Activator) that I used only puffed up a little but had about 5 hours to get going before being pitched. I'm thinking of pitching another smack pack if there's no sign of...

    Logan Square, Chicago

I used to brew a few years back when I was living in Lisle - used to get all my supplies at the Brewer's Coop. I love that 2 Bros has done so well, they're thoroughly good people.

    Haier NuCool for fermentation

Has anyone tried to put a 6.5 gal glass carboy in this yet? I'm thinking the acid carboys will be too wide, but if the regular ones work I might invest in it. I saw that the BBs fit in there, but I'm not sure how I feel about them yet...

    Logan Square, Chicago

Howdy all, my wife and I have started brewing recently. I love all the good info that I've found on this site. We're in the Logan Square neighborhood, stumbling distance from where Revolution Brewing will be opening. Quite excited about that. We're doing extract brews for now, but...
