Another Keezer Thread - GE 7.0cf

I also have the exact same GE 7.0 freezer, and this is making it really hard for me NOT to build a collar for it. Thanks for the pictures and write up.

    Organizing beer lines

Thanks for the replies. I had been searching so intensely for "tubing clips" that I never even thought to look for cable clips. I think cable clips will work for what I want to do.

    Organizing beer lines

Anyone have any ideas on how to organize beer lines? What I am looking for is some kind of clip that will hold the beer line. McMaster Carr has something that might work, but I am not even sure it is the right size. I have looked everywhere!! See here (item C)...

Maybe the worst ever..... (label removal)

Agreed. Dogfish labels are the easiest labels I have ever removed. I also use OxyClean.

    Fermentation below 65 degrees.

This is why I love winter brewing. Pitched US-05 into a batch on Sunday and my house temp fluctuates between 59 - 62. Currently it is bubbling away. Interesting point about the peach ester. Have not heard of that, but I plan on keeping in the primary for more than 2 weeks.

Converting recipes to partial mash/partial boil in Beer Smith

Thanks. Another question regarding your mash tun. I am assuming that the 5 gallon cooler is unmodified and you are using a grain bag to hold the grain. Is that correct? I currently use a 2 gallon cooler w/ grain bag but see no reason I couldn't use a 5 gallon and mash more grain.

Converting recipes to partial mash/partial boil in Beer Smith

This is awesome. Exactly what I was looking for. Most of the recipes I want to try are all-grain and am not ready to make the jump yet. I noticed that the DME is added after boil. Is this a function of the recipe conversion or personal preference? I typically add DME at the start of the boil.

Great, that was exactly the info I was looking for.

Cyber Monday deals at Home Depot

Thanks, I remember seeing that thread. My goal is to fit 3 cornies and a 10# tank. It looks like it is doable with the 7.0 cf.

Cyber Monday deals at Home Depot

See link below. Seems like some pretty good deals on chest freezers at HD available through today. Free shipping as well. Anyone have any experience with the 5 and 7 cubic foot GE models? Have not been to the store yet and not sure if the interior layout is the same as the freezers shown...

    TAP-A-DRAFT: first impression...

Why would you consider this overpriming? Is it because not as much priming sugar is required due to the CO2 cartridges?

    TAP-A-DRAFT: first impression...

Ordered mine and should be here tomorrow. How are most people filling the bottles? Racking to bottling bucket and then to TAD bottles? Or racking directly from fermenter?

Cabledawg - I am interested in hearing your impressions on the TAD. Have you had a chance to use it?

    Proper way to measure temperature

It seems like a decent thermometer - purchased at LHBS. I stir because the water sitting directly over the fire on my gas stove is hotter than the rest of the water. I could be entirely over-thinking this.

    Proper way to measure temperature

Hi all, I have done some searching for an answer to my question but have not quite found the answer. First a rundown of my equipment. I do partial mashes in a little 8 quart cooler and boil in a 5 gallon kettle. I use a standard thermometer (long stick with round dial on the end)...
