    Exhaust fan help needed

I have a shed, aprox 25' by 8', with an unfinished beam roof. There are gaps between the roof and the walls to provide some airflow, but they are nothing significant. Later on, I would like to wall off the inside into two smaller rooms, to break things up a little, but air supply is the most...

Is there a use for these SS containers?

yeah, applying heat to the outside wouldn't help boil the contents, that's the whole point of insulation, right, to keep the inside a different temp from the outside? as an MLT or a fermenter, though, it would be fantastic. conceptually it is the same as a plastic water cooler MLT, except that...

All grain shopping list- help me out

Thanks for all the replies, I have a lot of stuff to do today, but I'll post back and update later, when I get a chance.

All grain shopping list- help me out

Thanks for all the advice. A hydrometer is actually on my list, I just forgot to mention it here.

All grain shopping list- help me out

I haven't started brewing, yet. I don't especially want to ease into things with extract brewing, or partial grain. I don't want to spark up an argument, but I do prefer stainless steel and glass to plastic an aluminum, and I prefer them enough to pay for the difference. I know I could break...

All grain shopping list- help me out

damn, I probably should have posted this in the Beginner's forum, instead of here.

All grain shopping list- help me out

I'm not handy enough to build a mill or a sculpture or…pretty much anything. I'm trying to put together a list of everything I will need, so that I can (hopefully) buy it all in one shot, and enjoy it for a while, without worrying about what i need next. Kegging is, for now, out of the...

    Keezer…with tower taps?

I've seen (and been very impressed by) the kegeraters people build here. The dominant mode seems to be to put an extra layer between the lid and body of a chest freezer, and put forward facing taps on there. My question is: does anyone cut holes in the top, and put taps up there, instead...

Trying to solve the carboy problem

For those making bottle tests: please fill the bottles up with water, as this will add a considerable amount of weight, as well as bringing the test closer to a real life type situation.

No Stoppers for my 5000 ML Flasks, Now What?

5000ml is 5l, I'm not sure if you meant 500ml (half liter) or not, but 5000ml is a very odd way to phrase it.

Trying to solve the carboy problem

Subscribed. I especially love the idea of opaque coating, with a slit left uncoated; the best of both worlds.

The Ultimage Beer Vessel for my Vessel....

Yep. Find somebody who raises goats, or sheep, and work something out. Also, buy a few pelts, to drape around your body, as clothing.

    Hops Food Vacuum Question

    Awesome, thanks guys.

    Anyone else here HATE Weiss

Exactly this. American wheat is possibly my least favorite style of all, it is just bland and…nothing. But Hefe and Wit, those are fantastic types of beer, and I could drink them all day and all night.

    Wine Fridge Uses?

This is exactly what I would do with it, personally. What could go better with a homebrew?

Do I even want a wort chiller?

How long is yours? I was thinking of buying this one from AHB, but I'm trying to figure out if it would chill the wort in one pass, because doing more than one seems like a pita.

    Hops Food Vacuum Question

Do the more, um, modestly priced vacuum sealers have similar attachments? Because those Ball jars of hops look fantastic…

    DIY Tap Handle?

Lots of nice tap handles in this thread, but if I were shopping for some, those are the ones I would want.

    Blichmann Boilermaker for MLT/Boil Kettle/both/neither?

Oh, so 3gal batches are a PITA size, I see. I was thinking that since I am new to this I might want to make a few smaller batches to get started, but I guess that isn't a great idea. It does sound like the 15gal would be a smart buy, though, so I think I'll try for that. Thanks, everybody.
