3 FLoyds Zombie Dust attempt. Help/info requested

My attempt at this with the most up to date recipe. DELICIOUS. I wish I could remember what the real thing tasted like, as it was almost 6 months ago. Regardless, the intense tropical, passion fruit like aroma and flavors are just fantastic. I hadn't had much luck with wyeast 1968, but my...

How To: Ranco Two Stage ETC Wiring Instructions

Thank you, thank you!! I was afraid to plug it in, but it worked on the first try! In case it helps anyone else, my two outlets didn't have black and white wires. The ground wire (middle) did have a green coating, but the other two were both white (color of outlet). I came to learn that the...

    white chunks (ice/dry ice??)

I have no idea what it was and I swear I still see it sometimes if I change up pressure. I've never had any ill effects from it, so I tend not to think about it much these days.

    "Imperializing" a pumpkin ale

Generally, increase only the base malt. Of course, you'll also want to adjust bittering hops accordingly to balance it.

    Yeast problem

All grain brewing won't fix these types of problems, if that's what you're aiming to do. Make sure you pitch with the proper amount of healthy yeast: http://www.mrmalty.com/calc/calc.html And maintain the proper fermentation temperature. Otherwise, you'll have the same problems with...

How do you partial mash canned pumpkin?

I've had great success adding canned pumpkin straight to my mash. Sure, it won't give you all of the "pumpkin flavor" that you can get, but drinking a pumpkin ale is more about the pie spices than the actual pumpkin. Have you ever had raw pumpkin to begin with? I have no idea what it tastes...

    Yeast problem

I would defintitely give it another week. I'll have beers not finish out in 7 days from time to time.

Kegging Red Bull at $0.14 per 12 oz can

On a related topic, I once tried to make Perrier by tossing in water, and a couple halved lemons, and a couple halved limes into my keg. It tasted really great for the first few days, but I think the rind (in particular the white part) really turned the drink bitter. I want to try it again...

Kegging Red Bull at $0.14 per 12 oz can

I think the poster is correct: http://www.sodastreamusa.com/TasteNutritionInfo.aspx Oh well, guess I'll just have to drink twice as much now that it's economically viable. Could also concentrate the mix to bump it, but I don't know how that will effect flavor.

Kegging Red Bull at $0.14 per 12 oz can

Kinda wondered that myself, so I purged my keg with CO2 to be in the safe side. I also sanitized it beforehand, just as with a beer, though I don't know that bacteria would even like fake sugar, lol.

Kegging Red Bull at $0.14 per 12 oz can

The syrup's cap is used to measure the amount you would need for their bottle (1 liter, I think).

If you have a bed, bath and beyond nearby, you can pick it up there instead of ordering it online. That's where I got mine.

Kegging Red Bull at $0.14 per 12 oz can

Set at 12 psi, just like my beers. Red Bull is "lightly carbonated", so I think it works well. Other soda syrups may need higher carbonation. I'm curious to try the coke zero rip off as well, but at least those I can normally get for 25 cents a can anyway.

Kegging Red Bull at $0.14 per 12 oz can

Hear me out, not a typical beer thread... I'm a Red Bull addict, but I simply cannot afford to buy 12 oz cans of Red Bull for $2.49 every day. So, I looked around for cheaper alternatives and discovered SodaStream: http://www.sodastreamusa.com/store.aspx?gclid=CPjcuvi-iaoCFUFx4Aod5QLyzg...

    first lager

Most recommend chilling, then pitching. There are pros/cons either way. Pitching now ensures no wild yeast/bacteria get started while it's chilling; however, pitching now then reducing temperature can make some of that yeast floc out prematurely.
