    Grain Bugs Everywhere

Help. I live in A warm climate, buy and brew in bulk and have an insane grain bug problem. I've scanned the web for solutions but I hope I'm missing something. Is there a product that will attract and kill these little bastards? I bought one that was supposed to be a pheromone glue trap but...

    Creme Brulee Stout

Not weird but I would guess it would be tough to pick up in a beer like this with all the dark malt. Figure out a lavender Creme brûlée blonde ale recipe and your wife will probably buy you a conical.

@steelersbrun: How do you use the roasted grains at vorlauf? I've heard it mentioned before but never researched further. Simple....just don't add the roasted grain until after your sac rest. Just stir them in just before vorlauf and that's it.

    My first 5 gal brew

The holder is a great idea. I have a strong feeling you will be going all-grain in short order. Welcome to the hobby and most of all enjoy!

Tiny is a great brew but not all that roasty.....use all your roasted malt at vourlauf....it sounds interesting...can't wait wait to hear how it turns out.

    12-12-12 Wee Heavy Recipe Formulation

Decided to see how this was coming along. It finished at 11.8%ABV. Zero head retention. Also a little under carbonated. Pretty darn sweet. A lot of raisin and plum in the taste and aroma. Not too bad but 3/4 of a pint and I'm full. If I brew it again I will bump up the hops a bit to cut...

Experimental Beer Slim's Graham Cracker Ale 2.0

Sounds pretty durn interesting. A lot going on with ingredients. Might be a silly question but what are the flavor highlights? Hell of a label by the by.

Kegged Beer became dark red and weird colored

"foxing" was a term English brewers used for infection, got its name from the reddish-tinged foam. That kinda looks like a strawberry shake...pretty gnarly...sorry for your loss.

    Water fer' dummies

Great idea....brew day will be hectic enough as this will be my first batch with major water chemistry and an infusion step mash. Will try the mini batch soon....thanks for the help.

    Water fer' dummies

That's what Brynildson has for his union jack recipe. Can't get it in FL so I will try to brew it right....I hope;-)

    Water fer' dummies

Thanks! You mean just make a super small batch with the same grain % and water?
