    Any downside to a ridiculously fast fermentation?

    My IPA fermented quite quickly as well (~2 days). Can anyone elaborate a bit more on the effects of a fermentation that is too warm? In tasting, there is a bit of fruitiness. Flaw or not, the fruitiness is melding quite nicely with the cascade hops. I know it won't be the most clean IPA...

    How to oak a brew ?

    Is there a SG/FG range recommended or not recommended for oaking a beer? I have a porter fermenting right now and looking to oak, but not sure if it's a heavy enough beer to take the oak (most likely bourbon soaked).

    Mixed up Hop Schedule...

    I added the Bullion 20 at the last 20 minutes. The Fuggles was added once my wort came to a rolling boil (the start of my 60 minute boil).

    Hi all, pretty new to the homebrew scene. I made my first noob mistake... Batch #2 is a english style porter. All was going well until I realized after finishing my boil that I had mixed up the hops schedule... The recipe called for Bullion Hop Pellets for bittering and Fuggles Hop...

    has anyone committed this siphon cardinal sin

    i second the filling of the siphon tube with sanitizing solution and putting one end of the tube into the beer. Make sure the hands are clean. Easy cheezy powerful gravity.
