Dip Tube when using a PICO Style FB

Thanks for your reply. The support base does not sit flush and there is about a 4" by 3" rectangle in front of the ball valve(inside) where a small dip tube could be mounted. I can take some pics and post...

Dip Tube when using a PICO Style FB

Hello to whoever reads this.... I just bought the PICO Style FB for my Sanke Mash Tun. The PICO FB has a platform it rests on thats 1 1/2" to 2" off that bottom of the keg. My question is if I mount the Ball valve as low as I can, there will still be a fairly large area under the Ball valve and...

    First Hefeweizen...Feedback

This is my first Hefeweizen. Brewing this for our annual week at our family camp. Love Hefe's but am certainly no expert in the style. My plan is an easy drinking, thirst quenching hefe with some subtle honey mixed in with the banana/clove undertones that should develop from the strain of yeast...

Head Spinning: Fly Sparge, Batch Sparge, Hybrid Fly Sparge

We have another cooler with a valve and hose assembly which hooks up directly to our sparge arm. But you do raise a question. Do we need to keep the cooler lid on when we fly? I have built it so we can keep it closed and still monitor the level of water inside but is it necessary to keep it on...

Head Spinning: Fly Sparge, Batch Sparge, Hybrid Fly Sparge

Thanks guys...we will be doing a 10 gallon DIPA so the grain bed will be pretty high and the water level will be about to the top after mashout. I think we will have to let it drain a little before we start the sparge water. I have a cvpc manifold that has two vertical channels and 4 cross...

    Hybrid Fly Sparge Technique

    All Grain Cooler System Feedback....

Anyone have or know anyone who has this...seems like a decent product and after you add up the cost of the coolers and fittings it seems like a decent deal...I know you could purchase items and put together as a DIY project but may be better off spending a few $'s extra and have it all...

    Fresh Hop "Dry Hopping" Question

Thanks for the quick response...they seem quite clean but I'm sure there is some dirt still on them...they have been frozen for about a month or so...also, the IPA is an imperial so the alcohol will be even higher to protect them

    Fresh Hop "Dry Hopping" Question

I received homegrown Cascade hops from this past growing season. When give they were frozen in ziplock bags. I would like to "wet" hop my IPA in the secondary. The question is how/do you need to sterilize the hops before adding them to the secondary? Any feedback in procedure or wet/dry...
