When force carbonating, do you have to leave the beer hooked up to the gas line? I've read the different ways of carbing like the "set and forget" and the "shaking" but there is never any mention of whether or not to leave the gas line connected to the keg while it is carbonating.

This is probably a stupid question but here goes anyways.... Do you have to fill a keg before carbonating and serving it? Does it change the process/time to carbonate at all? I want to put 2.5 - 3 Gallons of beer into a 5 Gallon corny. I'm asking because I made a batch of stout a few weeks...

I'm in Cambridge, ON which is about an hour west of Toronto Princess auto for cornies? I may have to check that out. You are saying you used Praxair, are you using nirtrogen rather than CO2?

I had it around 65 for the first week then I moved it upstairs and it is now been at 70 for 3 days. I've tried giving it a swirl but it seems hard to do without shaking everything up...I'm wishing I had used a bucket rather than a glass carboy.
