Post pictures of stuff you have made (besides beer)

I paid to have the shower walls floated level, other than that, I did everything. It was an amazing amount of work. Cheers, knewshound

Thanks man, the tiles were really expensive but with only 100 sq ft, how much can it cost? Worth every penny, they are a hybrid tile that always maintains ambient temperature. No cold feel out of the shower! Thanks for the props Jay. Cheers, knewshound

I recently finished a master bath remodel. Before. After I made this patio cover a few years a go that houses an outdoor kitchen, sink, refrigerators, beer taps and other adult toys. We put a pond in for SWMBO shortly after. Cheers, knewshound

Does your LHBS provide a good crush?

Buying my own mill saved me dollars in many ways. For a mere 45 dollar investment *thank you Craigslist* I got a brand new mill that has increased my efficiency by 15, yes 15 points. Rather than having 40% of my grainbill remaining basically untouched other than cracking, I get a full and...

    What got you into homebrewing?

When I got interested in brewing back in 1983 the "hobby" was more voodoo than science. After living in Germany for 2 1/2 years, the swill available in the US nearly forced me in to brewing. At that time, the cost for a 6 pack of imported Pils or Ale was about 6 or 7 bucks while you could...

    First 5-gal brew...

Well, since you are the brewer, the hops will be whatever you decide. A blonde is a good choice but if I was advising you (and I am) I would suggest a Kolsch. It has the qualities you say you like, looks like typical "American" beer, is lightly hopped and is able to be fermented at temps...

Ideas please - (50th birthday party label)

I am turning 50 next month. Yeah yeah yeah, I know. Over the hill and all that. I am giving away bottles of brew to my guy friends who are throwing a party for me and I am stumped. What would YOU put on the label? I have thought of several ideas but did not particularly like any...

Adding water to fermented and ready brew

Well, I am talking about "watering it down" to 1.050, a normal Pils range. Are you talking about an off flavor? A 7.5% Pils NEEDS to be watered down, it is kind of nasty as is. Brewing another batch is not on my agenda I'm afraid. No time. This sucks! Cheers, knewshound

Adding water to fermented and ready brew

I made a Pils and was not expecting the amazing jump in efficiency that I got due to crushing my own grains. Rather than 1.050 it was 1.068. It finished at 1.08. Can you say Imperial Pilsner? It is a bit much to drink. I had bottled a few before I sent it away to be lagered and it...

    Looking for homebrew kit...(?)

Buy the best kit you can, steeping grains and a full boil are a must IMHO. You might even think about trying my method in Homebrewing 1A in the link below. If you just want to get your feet wet, think about buying carbonation tabs to eliminate the need to rack out and add sugar as a...

    Lump of Coal Stout 2007

We are giving away a couple of cases of this amazing stout and I thought you might like the labels. We get a kick out of seeing the expression on peoples faces when you give them Homebrew for Christmas. I put this explanation on the back so no one had the impression they were drinking...
