    I was going to brew two beers this weekend: A dark belgian tripel, and a hobgoblin clone. However, in a week and a half I am going to be leaving for about 3 months. is it a good idea to make these if they will be sitting in the primary for 3 months? Or should I just wait until I get back?

    Wow, So I did a partial mash tonight. I bought a little extra grain because I thought I was going to get terrible terrible efficiency (like less then 60%) but low and behold I ended up according to Beercalculus.com getting 87% mash efficiency!!!!!!! Im so excited!!!

    I was just curious why a longer primary is really beneficial? why is it better to primary for 3 weeks and then bottle and wait 3 weeks instead of just primary for a week or 2 and then wait in the bottle for 4 or 5 weeks? what happens in the primary that doesnt once its bottled?
