    False bottom gaskets

Got it all together after work tonight Had to take it apart once due to a leak, moved gaskets around and got it all sealed up. Pretty Standard MLT build 10 gallon Igloo Cooler (Made in USA) 12" false bottom 1/2" stainless valving ended up with just shy of 1 qt. of deadspace

    False bottom gaskets

What I am concerned about is when the the water level gets low, not having a tight connection which could break the siphon, leaving more wort behind, thus adding to my deadspace. Maybe I am thinking too much into it and should RDWHAHB

    Maintaining Carbonation

Seems like the way to go for sure! The last couple of batches that I have bottled, I mixed my priming sugar and beer in an empty keg and used CO2 pressure and a picnic tap to fill the bottles. Saved me time and effort over gravity filling from a bottling bucket. This seems like the next...

    Sometimes you need to improvise

My brown ale was running a bit on the cold side, and I am trying to get it done and carb'ed in time for some Christmas sampler packs. The other night I check my gravity, after a week and a half I was still at 1.020, so I checked my temp strip, 58 degrees. The yeast strain wants 64-72...

    Maintaining Carbonation

The hybrid bottle filler idea worked really well I'll definitely be using this from now on! Bottled a sixer of the Dead Ringer and started putting together my holiday packs last night

    Maintaining Carbonation

Hardware store didn't have any drilled stoppers. I might have an opportunity to get to a homebrew shop tonight though, they should have them in stock.

    Maintaining Carbonation

I like that idea! and I happen to have a bottle filler that never gets used anymore.

I'll stop by my local hardware store tonight and see if they have any drilled stoppers that look like they would work for me
