    Newbie question about cooling wort.

    Good point! I always disinfect my entire kitchen before I brew - especially the sink - but I never even thought that water from the outside of the pot would drip into the fermenter.

    Good info - thanks to everyone who responded. I've read a number articles on this now, but one thing I can't seem to find is - How do you know how much to use? Is there a way of measuring how much yeast you have?

    West Los Angeles - checking in

    Hey all, Brand new to the boards. I purchased a basic brew kit from Culver City Brew Supply a few weeks ago, have brewed 2 batches, and just bought the ingredients for a third. Will be checking out the Pacific Gravity Home brew club next Thursday. BillyB
