    You're saying I could build a brucontrol for $300 in parts/ $100 for software/ $85 for the mini computer.

    craftbeerpi + 50amp control panel

As the brucontrol visually looks great the price tag for the software seems steep for me, I'm trying to do this on a budget. I would also need to purchase a laptop which i don't have.

    Base for an Imperial Stout?

I have mine set for 71% normally, and depending how big of a beer I am doing I throttle down. Since I'm using 6lbs of dark DME I feel like I'll be pretty good.

    Base for an Imperial Stout?

I have my efficiency at 65% I believe ill hit my O.G. I might also do that with the darker malts; add them later in the mash. I run a H.E.R.M.S. and my water chemistry ill do once i finalize the grain bill, but basic stout calcuations I can justify all these malts... I was more wondering if I...

Ok, Awesome ill lower it to 8.5% get about 33SRM. should I still cold steep or add the Carafa3 to the mash at sparge time? What are your thoughts using Midnight wheat over Carafa3?

    black lager(Schwarzbier) critique

Ok, I don't have an option for Sinamar, since ill be brewing this week and my LHBS doesn't carry it. Ill go with cascade and liberty. What if i cold steep the carafa3 or use Midnight Wheat? ...Sam Adams only list 3 grains and gets it to 50 SRM(from the website).

    black lager(Schwarzbier) critique

This is what Ive come up with thus far for 11 gallon batch. 9.5 lbs Munich (10L) 9.5 lbs Pale Malt (2L) - 3.5 lbs Carafa III (525L) or 4.25 lbs Midnight Wheat (425L) - ^ both of these seem like a whole lot 2 oz Cascade @ 60min 1.5 oz Sterling @ 5mins...

I'm really shooting for the raisin, plum, stone fruit flavors... never had brewed this style I understand that you want the grain bill to be complex.
