Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

Not sure about this but, what are people's thoughts on subbing out the cascade additions with cashmere? I'm thinking about doing that because it's what I have in the freezer. Plenty of centennial, but no cascade. I've made the original before, but I'm thinking cashmere would be pretty good...

American IPA Stillmatic - Centennial/Columbus IPA

Brought this back from the dead and brewed today. I used 5 pounds each of maris otter and 2 row. I have rather low efficiency. Going to dry hop with 1/2 ounce each of Columbus and centennial. 1.045 in the fermenter with 1056.

    Pale ale recipe help

This beer is only three weeks old, a little over a week in the keg. WOW! It's absolutely fantastic! I've brewed a LOT of beer and have been doing so since 2008, and this one is up there with the best! The picture below ended up being the hop schedule and I used US-05 for yeast.

    My Keezer

Thanks guys! Took me a bit to tackle the lid. The whole lid was dented and rusted. I love the wooden top. Makes a great work surface on brew day. Only issue is the lid is heavy and the hinges don't hold it up since the collar is attached to the lid and the whole thing is hinged. I brace it...

    My Keezer

Had this old freezer for quite some time now. The lid was completely shot and I figured I can just make a lid out of wood. The whole inside of the lid is insulated. It's not much to look at, but it keeps beer cold!

    Pale ale recipe help

Good point on the Columbus. I'm going to sub the 20 minute Galaxy addition out for Columbus and add 1 oz of Columbus to dry hop. I'm going to leave everything else as is.

    Pale ale recipe help

I just brewed a bigger beer using all centennial. I'm going for more of a pale opposed to a blonde.

    Pale ale recipe help

    I'm formulating a pale ale recipe using hops I already have. What, if any, suggestions do you have for this one? This is a 5.5 gallon batch. 9.5# 2-row 1# Vienna .5# crystal 20L 1oz Galaxy @ 20 .5oz Galaxy @ 5 .5oz Amarillo @ 5 1oz Galaxy @ 0 1oz Amarillo @ 0 .5oz Galaxy & .5oz Amarillo dry hop...

    Loose dip tube....wtf

I dunno who made it, I'm not at home right now. But the thing is basically brand new. I've served one beer out of it so far and it poured awfully slow compared to the other kegs in there, same pressure......I wonder if this is related?

    Loose dip tube....wtf

Yeah, already did that....maybe something with the post? Spring may be short?

    Loose dip tube....wtf

This is exactly what I'm scared of.....any thoughts of how to fix it?

    Loose dip tube....wtf

I have a brand new ball lock keg and no matter how many times I re-seat the dip tube and post, the tube remains loose. When the post is tightened, you can reach in and shake the dip tube around. I even swapped sides with the other tube. Changed the seal already too. The keg hold pressure...

Florida Seeking Navarre FL Home Brewers

Sounds like you're in Midway. We could be neighbors! Anyways, I just built a 4 tap keezer and my neighbor has 3. We can't brew enough to keep them full....

Irish Red Ale Raging Red Irish Red Ale

Brewed this a few weeks ago and it carbed and in keg. I undershot the OG a bit @ 1.056 and it's a bit cloudy but wow, this is damn good!!! Will be brewing this again and again.

Irish Red Ale Raging Red Irish Red Ale

Brewed this 2 weeks ago and my efficiency was a little low. My OG was only 1.056. I used US-05 and it finished at 1.015. A little sweet, but I think it may be okay.

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

I'm with you man! I took 4 years off as well but jumped right back in it and have my first batch in 4 years chugging away in primary! Also have 2 gallons of mead and 5 gallons of apfelwein. Gotta get the pipeline going again!

    New to mead....got a question

    That's smart, thanks

    New to mead....got a question

That's what I'm thinking too.....more strawberries in secondary. Maybe I'll rack the 1 gallon primary to a 2 gallon secondary with 2 lbs of berries. I don't wanna lose too much racking from a 1 gallon to another 1 gallon

    New to mead....got a question

Awesome! I was leaning toward 1lb of cut up strawberries in the secondary. Thanks for the tips!
