    I made mine took a air lock to the hardware store and matched up some tubing to the size of the 2 piece airlock. Just make sure that you take off the + type tab that some air locks have on the bottom of them or it could clog. You can usually cut or snap it off the bottom of it with pliers.

    nice I started mine 11/2 and started by day two it looked similar to that. day three about double and tonight just checked it and the krausen was headding up the blow off tube. It looks like you might have a bigger carboy than I. Mine is only 5 gal. Cant wait to taste it.

    Adding extras in bottling

    dont know if it would work but what if you had added the fruit during fermentation then when bottling transfered the fruit into each bottle. Then most of the sugars should be fermented off. Dont know though

    Brewing with tap water -- from the HOT faucet

    I have a Noritz N-0751 it will do up to 180*. It is nice it has a remote temp setting that I installed under my sink so if you want it hotter you go under the sink and turn it up or vise versa. The unit itself is in my basement. Just remember it will NOT be like a conventional hot water...

    Strawberry Blonde in the making

    So I brewed a pale blonde ale for the misses and put 6lb of pureed strawberries when I transfered it to the secondary. I only have a 5gal secondary and when I looked the next day I'd say a 1/3 to a 1/2 of the strawberries worked their way through the blow off tube and ended up in my blow off...
