    Barrel-Aged Coffee

So barrel aging beans seems like the new thing in coffee and I'd like to try it. I gather than commercial producers put green beans in full-sized barrels and then roast them. Does anyone have experience doing this on a home scale? I'd like to use soaked oak cubes or spirals, but I'm not sure...

    Cellar placement

I have a beer/wine cellar that I keep in a large, freestanding wine cooler. It can hold 400-500 bottles, so it would be very heavy if full. We moved to a new house and I plan to set it up in the finished basement, which has low-pile carpet. Is it ok to install this on carpet or should I put a...

    Do I need a new breaker/outlet?

Sorry for the long explanation on such a basic question. I'm not really sure how this works and not planning to do any of the electrical stuff myself, I'm just not sure what I need. So there is the main electric panel to my house and then there is a separate, smaller panel in the garage that...

    Best Value Sours

Just curious what sours you think are tasty and reasonably priced. I can drink a lot of Monk's Cafe and Bourgogne des Flandres for about $15/4-pack. Single 375 ml bottles of some beers can go for about that much. Those can be great beers, but as I find myself reaching for sours/wild ale more...

    RateBeer's 2013 Best Of

http://www.ratebeer.com/RateBeerBest/BestBeers-State2014.asp Not that anyone puts much stock in these, but they're always interesting to look at. Now that Epic is in Denver, it looks like Colorado has the best beer and best Brewery for both Colorado and Utah.

    Favorite Coffee Prep

What are you using to brew your morning joe? I started with a french press, moved up to a cheapo starbucks espresso machine, and now have some ridiculous fully automatic thing. Ironically, some of the best coffee I've ever had came out of some cheap Nespresso machines in Europe.

    Bourbon Advice

I'm planning to pick up a bottle of bourbon for a buddy. I know he likes Templeton Rye. I would like to get a bottle of Stranahan's, Leopold Bros., Breckenridge, or another Denver-area bourbon, because I think that would be a nice treat (he is in Seattle). Any advice or recommendations on the...
