I'm looking to add a temperature sensor for the BCS-460 to my Igloo Cooler mash tun. Has anyone done this? Any recommendations on going the threaded NPT route with a weldless bulkhead versus a straight sensor through the lid or dangled over the side?

The bottom of my fridge is the plastic plexiglass type shelves. I added a quick piece of wood to distribute the weight of three kegs. Are there any issues leaving this in there long term? Any better options to distribute the weight that other people are doing?
