    How often are you brewing?

Not nearly enough for my taste! My lazy brother only is motivated about four times a year. I once brewed 8 weekends in a row.

South Carolina SC midlands area brewers

I've actually been a member before but after DIY Brew house closed I haven't been as active. Might be time to change that!

South Carolina SC midlands area brewers

I just found out my local brew shop in Columbia (BetMar) doesn't sell grain by the sack, only by the pound. I'd love to know where a nearby place is that does sell by the sack if anyone knows. I am getting low on base malts and have a lot of brewing to do going forward. I'd rather not pay...

    What are you drinking now?

Celebrating a successful solo bottling adventure of ten gallons of California Common! I can't pay my back so I cracked a tall boy instead 😂

What I did for beer today

Who’s still brewing Belgian-style ales and what’s your favorite recipe?

https://www.homebrewtalk.com/threads/westvleteren-12-clone-multiple-award-winner.500037/ If you do this right it will be amazing 🤩

Who’s still brewing Belgian-style ales and what’s your favorite recipe?

Absolutely 😘 Belgian dark quads and the best recipe I know of is the Westvleteren 12. My brother and I agree it's the best beer we make regardless of style or recipe. That reminds me that after my saison I'll need to pick up some pilsner malt

What I did for beer today

Got everything ready to bottle ten(!) gallons of California Common today. It's about time as my house stock is down to 1.5 cases... I like to have 6 or more generally

What I did for beer today

Keeping track of the early fermentation process at about 48 hours it's off the chain! Active doesn't begin to describe it lol there was good krausen at 24 hours but the liquid is churning vigorously.

Yeast near expiration date from local homebrew supply store

The viability of yeast at any age is always amazing to me. I have had jars of saved yeast in my fridge for two years and they start up well with a bit of time and patience. Saturday I started some San Francisco Lager yeast (wlp810) that was nearly three years since it was last used. It was...

    Warm Fermented Lager Thread

Yep! Using wlp810 (San Francisco Lager) yeast in a California Common, one of my favorite styles but first time brewing it in three years 🤔

    So who's brewing this weekend?

My brother and I did ten gallons of steam beer. Tried some Triple Perle hops instead of Northern Brewer but I might dryhop with it at least.

What I did for beer today

Back after a few years off (formerly @catdaddy66) and that was due to personal issues. I was still brewing but not as much but today my brother and I did our first batch this year, a California Common with Triple Perle hops and wlp810. Decided that at our current pace it would be better to do...
