    Who Held his Beer?

I'm sure he has grown up. He must be older Bud Weisser. Sorry for the old joke.

    Who Held his Beer?

Check the seventies bowl haircut. Someone's mom bought a Flowbee.

    Any HVAC experts out there?

This is a funny coincidence, because I post a lot of brewing questions on HVAC forums.

Help Me Choose My Next Beer Glass

On a related note, Dollar Tree has surprisingly good beer glasses.

Trying to get back into the hobby

Here's something to make all of us feel bad about thinking we have to have the best tools.

Trying to get back into the hobby

Ouch. This is a big problem with many hobbies. Do you start making furniture, or do you spend the first 10 years creating the perfect all-Festool workshop? Do you buy a Taiwanese lathe today, or do you spend years waiting for some widow to sell you a like-new Monarch for $400? I made the...

Trying to get back into the hobby

Is a three-pot brew system anything like a brew sculpture? Do people still do that?

    What happened to IPA?

Feel like I could have written this myself. I have never worried about styles or conforming to someone else's criteria. I don't get that at all. It's like trying to be the best Michael Jackson impersonator. I do understand trying to make beers similar to factory beers, so they can be improved...

What did I cook this weekend.....

Homemade McMuffins. Can't get them exactly right. It looks like you have to wrap them for a few minutes to get that authentic texture.

    Keg seal leaking

This should be obvious, but I don't recall seeing anyone say it here before. If you have a leaky O-ring, the leak should work in both directions, even if the keg is pressurized. Gas molecules are really small, and they move all the time. While CO2 is trying to get out, the 20% or so of the...

    Keg seal leaking

I like to keep extra O-rings so I don't take an O-ring that has been under pressure for weeks or months and put it in a new keg. My understanding is that it may take a while for an O-ring to rebound from being flattened, so they may not seal as well if they haven't been given some time off...

    First Keezer Build

You need to get the INTERNAL measurements of whatever box you're looking at, and don't forget your CO2 tank and plumbing. If you want beer gas for stout, that's another tank.

First Time Keezer Build - What do you wish you knew/What lessons did you learn?

That looks pretty good. And if I use it, I won't have to pry the collar off if the keezer dies, like the Chinese disposable all new keezers are.

First Time Keezer Build - What do you wish you knew/What lessons did you learn?

I never attached my collar to my keezer. It sits flat and doesn't budge when I open and close the door. Hasn't been a problem, but I am thinking of doing some light sealing to keep tiny bugs out.

    Height Needed for BIAB Hoist?

Fill your bag with junk, hang it, and adjust. Sometimes it's better to be an engineer than a theorist.

    Cast iron cookware "reconditioning"

If you had used pork fat, it would have smelled wonderful. People have been using it for thousands of years.

    Cast iron cookware "reconditioning"

Pork fat smells wonderful and does not give off annoying fumes.

    Cast iron cookware "reconditioning"

I can tell you one thing for sure. Don't listen to the usual advice about seasoning, i.e. baking oil onto your skillet at 350. You want to use pork fat, not oil. Oil gives off blue smoke that makes your eyes burn. And you should season at 450, not 350.

    Cast iron cookware "reconditioning"

I have found that electrolysis tends to deposit black oxide on things. I have gotten good results with oven cleaning cycles.
