    Nottingham & Safale 05

    I brewed my first 10 gallon batch a coupe days ago. It was Jamil's Reprobate American Stout, and it was supposed to have an O.G. of 1.073. My plan was to rehydrate a packet of Notty and a packet of Safale 05, and split it into two 5 gallon batches. My mash ton was nearly overflowing, but I...

    On their website, I noticed all the recipes in the recipe section but found it odd that there was no way to download the .btp version to use in the software. Is there a way to do this that i seem to be missing? I'd like to be able to plug the recipe in so that I can apply it to my...

    Growler bombs! :::pics:::

    A while back I made a Winter Warmer to take up north for the holidays. It called to bottle with blackstrap molasses, and it came out great. It wasn't over carbed or anything, but I think the 900 mile trunk ride (up and back), and the freezing temperatures may have contributed to this. After...

    no starter on high gravity beer?

    I bought the Russian Imperial Stout kit from Brewer's Best. The O.G. is going to be anywhere between 1.078 - 1.082. I normally always make a starter for a gravity as big as this, but i wasn't able to make one yesterday and this is the only day I have to brew. I'm replacing the dry yeast...

    Apfelwein as grog

    In the Apfelwein thread, Edwort says to put a quart of Apfelwein in a sauce pan and simmer it with turbinado sugar, rum, and a cinnamon stick, but doesnt really give proportions. I definitely wanna try this out this winter. Does anybody have any good grog recipes using Apfelwein? thanks!:mug:

    Sierra Nevada ESB

    I picked up a sixer of SN's ESB tonight ,and call me crazy, maybe i just worked too hard today but does this remind anybody of Anchor Steam? Its similar in color, and after my first sip I immediately thought of Anchor Steam. Definitely twice as bitter, but they almost finish the same for me.

    A great Cherry Wheat.

    Hey guys, Im moving my IPA over to secondary today which frees up my primary. My girl said she'd like to try a Cherry Wheat, and i think that sounds like a good idea seeing how we both like Sam Adams version. Has anyone made a great Cherry Wheat that they'd care to share with me? I saw the...

    I gave in to Apfelwein.

    When I first signed onto HBT, I never had any plans to make this. That was until I saw the massive amount of threads on the subject. It seems every brew signature has "EdWorts Apfelwein" in it somewhere. I had to know what all the fuss was about so i started a 2 gallon batch. They both have been...
