    Identical to apfelwein

I had a friend come over and try the apfelwien, he made an off comment on how it tastes like Gewürtztraminer. We went out later and bought a bottle, and I'll be damned... 100% match, you couldn't tell the two apart. Anyone else notice this? Or is my apfelwein really not acting correctly?

    My first "Crowd Favorite"

I tapped this friday night and had 100% complements from the crowd. It's a simple one, I used some leftovers to make it, but my best review yet. For the time being, this will become the "House Ale" at my house... Now I have to brew a lot more of it!!!:mug: Smooth Amber Type: All Grain...

    I'm an idiot

Let's say.. Hypothetically speaking of course. You were trying to mount weldless fitting into a pot and you used the wrong hole bit and drilled a ~1.75" hole... Not that this happened of course. How would this situation be salvaged (simply...no welding)? I've been looking for 2 1/2 in...

    Force Carbing the pipeline

So, until my 2nd Co2 container magically appears, I have a problem: I have kegs o beer that won't fit in the fridge to start force carbing. When I kick a keg, :drunk: I have to wait 2 weeks or so to start enjoying the new brew. If I were to put the keg under pressure and leave as such...

    Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout clone

I think the got this off of another forum, but this is a great recipe. Simple and easy as pie. Beer tastes wonderful if not a touch lighter than the original (could be my temps or using notty vs recommended strain...) Note the efficiency pre barley crusher... Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout...

    My Rye Recipe

Brewed yesterday. I was leery to use too much rye the first go around. I'm hoping to get some of the earthiness and spice against a flat 2 row to help me understand the grain. We'll see how this goes. Hops were what I had on hand. In fact, everything was just what I had on hand with the...

    Hops and Bigger BOOBIES!

I found this interesting. As a side note, I am also starting my breast enhancement business. All appointments will begin with a very very thourough examination. "Hops are now recognized for their strong estrogenic activity and are being included in some herbal preparations for women for...

    Risks of drinking apfelwein!

After 2 glasses of drinking some of the famous apfelwein, I was reaching into the drawer for my trusty Redskins musical bottle opener when a mandolin blade jumped at me out of nowhere and did this: I can only assume it was jealous :D

Using Heated Kennel pad to keep fermenter warm

Hello all, great forum... my first post! I'm making a hobo wine (cran apple) to start playing with yeast/fermentation and my house is around 65d throughout the winter.. I have the fermenter sitting on a heated kennel pad on a towel. I'm curious if anyone else has leveraged something like...
