    Rogue kit question

Wow, that's ridiculous! I got mine at a local shop, Hartford beer and winemakers warehouse. I think it was $54. It's a great shop. Had a bad reputation for a long time, but it's under new ownership now.

    Rogue kit question

Man, these instructions are terrible - Step 7: if your kit came with flavor hops, add now, etc.. Step 8: if your kit came with flavor hops, add now Again, not a huge deal, but ugh. I know the beer will be fine either way, but if it's a clone kit it should be more accurate. They only have 5...

    Rogue kit question

Hey guys, I just started a Rogue brutal IPA kit and I'm steeping the grain right now. The next step is to put the largest package of DME in, but there are 3 bags - a 3 lb bag of sparkling amber, a 3 lb bag of golden light, and a 1 lb bag of golden light. Does the two bags of golden light count...

    Hello from Phoenix

Welcome! Sounds like you're getting serious! I also have a great girl (girlfriend) that appreciates the hobby and we're brewing some irish stout right now. She just got back from AZ actually, and brought some Old Monkeyshine Ale from Nimbus brewing co. in Tucson. pretty good stuff!

    Another Connecticutian today..

Cool! Nice town, S. Windsor... I just bought my first house here a couple months ago. I've been wanting to brew for years, and now I have an entire empty bedroom to dedicate to it! Welcome to you too, thanks!

    Greetings from Vermont

Have any of you ever been to American Flatbread in Burlington? Went there the last time I went to visit my bro. The house beer was pretty good.. I had a nice citrusey IPA, and probably some of the best pizza I've ever had Welcome, Andreas!

Thanks! Nutmegger works too.. I just checked wikipedia and it lists Connecticuter/Connecticutian as the official demonyms, and Nutmegger as colloquial. I've never heard anyone use "Connecticuter" before

    Hi from CT

glad I could help! Let us know what you think of the place.. I originally wanted to go there, but ended up going somewhere a little closer to me, and they were open later. Looks like I would have gotten a better deal at Maltose. They have some really good reviews on beeradvocate.com (...

    Hi from CT

Welcome Mike, Recently on How Stuff Works on the Discovery channel, there was an episode on beer.. They featured the owner of Maltose Express in Monroe, CT, which is about a half hour from Norwalk. I wonder if I was in that same neighborhood years ago... The one time I was in Norwalk, my...

    Another Connecticutian today..

Thanks for the welcome! The guy I bought the kit from actually pointed me to How To Brew.. I've looked it over, but will definitely give it a thorough read before I start. Looks like a great resource The kit came with cascade hops, victory and crystal grain, and 6.6 lbs of light malt...

    Another Connecticutian today..

Hi from S. Windsor, CT... about to get started on my first home brew. I just got a brewers best IPA kit to start out with - Figured it would be a good way to go to get a handle on the process before I start experimenting. Wish me luck! - JT
