Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

I see that the LCD data can be grabbed from /api/lcd/1/ as the string values that populate the LCD. Is there a way to get the raw data with more resolution? I'd like to be able to pull temperature with more significant digits and state/time in state without decoding strings if possible.

Would be cool if the ESP32 firmware would support displays like these… maybe too many types in the wild.

Down to 1.005 now. Probably send 5 gallons to NHC.

1.009 and falling. Was 1.015 10 days ago. 53 days from pitching yeast & dregs. Edit: Tasting delicious. Brett funk is developing.

    Closed-system pressurized fermentation technique!

Trying a Bavarian Hefe fermenting at 12 psi. First proper pressure ferment. Not sure how pressure will affect ester production so I'm letting temp free rise. It's just over 75. :-/

I'm doing my first pressure ferment. No temp control, but logging with BrewPi. http://home.webboise.com:8082

You don't have to step mash. I do a single infusion and then mash out.

    Automated/closed system HERMS layout

I thinking of redoing some stuff in my rig around this platform. How are you handling volume measurement in automated brewing?

I appreciate your thoughtful response, explaining how the 2 internal headers on the HummingBoard-i2ex make it a better platform for fermentation control. I guess I've concluded that the RaspberryPi is quite capable as-is.

Yeah, but only on the i2ex model, not on the i1 or i2. Which runs ~$110? http://www.solid-run.com/products/hummingboard/linux-sbc-specifications/

Arduinos (Uno, Leonardo, Mega, etc.) can "handle" a lot more than 4 devices. The BrewPi shield has actuators for 4 devices. It's not really a limitation of the Arduino hardware. There are plenty of unused outputs on an Uno for $18 if you want to use them for something. I don't know why...

2 are internal, whatever that means.

Teamviewer is pretty great for this if he has a Windows box or Mac with ssh access.
