    Kal kettle problem with element

If you are doing a weldless setup like kal has with the washers and silicon gaskets etc you need to remove the rubber gasket on the element. Not sure how you are doing it so its hard to say.

    How To: BrewPi Over Bluetooth

Plus the teensy weensy drill bits snap in half if you look at em sideways. Get extra and be careful. :)

    How To: BrewPi LCD Add-On

On the encoder I need to tie pin C and one of the switch pins to ground right?

    How To: BrewPi LCD Add-On

Depends... With the pfet in place, the brewpi will turn off the display after 10 minutes. Tapping the encoder will wake it back up. Without the pfet the display will be always on. It's up to you if that matters. I h ave a weller soldering station and iit works great. Most of the time I...

Ok that was a PITA. My close vision is not what it used to be. My soldering Isn't what it used to be either heh. Some sorta big blobs but hey it works. Took your placement advice Day_trippr. Here is a crappy phone pic.

Hopefully my encoders are on the same boat yours were :) Should get my BSS84 pfets tomorrow. I would be interested in where you soldered yours if you do have a chance to get a pic. Thanks again Day_trippr!

    How To: BrewPi LCD Add-On

day_trippr I was looking at your latest schematic and trying to wrap my head around how this works with the PFET in there and I have a question. Since this is a PFET don't we supply V+ to the source and control it from the gate? You have 5v at the gate and pin 2 of the shift register going to...

    How To: BrewPi LCD Add-On

Thanks for the answer. Looks like the BSS84 pfet only comes in a SOT23 package. At least thats all i'm finding. Now to figure out how the hell I'm going to use that.... :)

    How To: BrewPi LCD Add-On

Your schematic shows wires going to pins 1-6 and 11-16 on the display but then the last diagram with wire hookups shows 2 wires going to 14 and no 4. Is the rightmost 14 supposed to be a 4? I know this is probably tedious work and thanks again for the work you have done.

    How To: BrewPi LCD Add-On

Really great work, thanks so much for doing this. A couple of questions though. :) 1) Is that a 'real' arduino protoshield? I know there are a lot of versions of these made by various companies. 2) what do i look for on the rotary encoder? is there a part number or something? just go do...

My eHERMS (mostly) Kal Clone Home Brewery

If you know how the bottom of the Blichmann pots are they have sort of a stepped bottom that a false bottom can sit on. About half an inch high. The center of the hole for the element is 2" from this step. I have been busy trying to get my dedicated brewing room built in the basement so I...
