    2 bottling questions

I've been kegging for a while, but have decided to bottle some of my beer again since it's easier to transport, and I have a couple of questions. 1) I bottle my wine and mead in mason jars and it works just fine, but will the pressure from carbonation cause a problem with bottling beer in...

Making something out of left over grain

So I used up a 50lb sack of 2 row and have a little left over and want to make something with the left overs before I buy another sack. I was thinking of a high gravity lager (malt liquor). I only have grain for a small batch, maybe 2 gallons. What I have left over is: 3-4lbs 2 row...

Clover Honey, Molasses W/lime Juice And Cinnamon

Yes, it's supposed to fizz. And it won't have near enough alcohal to be flamable and blow up the garage. Just leave it alone for a few months. I use Joe's Ancient Orange Mead recipe and I let it age for at least 4 months before drinking it, I've heard that most other recipes need to be aged...

    Joe's Ancient Orange Mead

I did a 1 gallon test batch of this last october, it turned out really good, now I have a 5 gallon batch going that I started mid February.

    flat beer

I'm now 90% sure that it's my capper. The last few times I bottled I noticed that some of the caps didn't seat right on the bottles and had to press them twice. And the last 2 batches have only had a few flat bottles. So it looks like I'll be buying a new capper before I bottle again.

Need a simple recipe for first try at all grain

Just made my first 5 gallons of Haus Pale Ale today and everything went well. Next weekend I'll go for 10 gallons. I went overboard and bought a 55lb sack of 2 row, now I have to use it all up before bugs can get to it, so I'll be doing a lot of brewing the next couple of weeks. :tank:

    flat beer

I'm fairly sure I mixed the priming sugar well, I spent a couple of minutes stirring it in. I had thought about that, but since most of my beer is carbonated I haven't bothered. about 2-3 weeks 5 oz corn sugar per 5 gallon batch BMBF ? My pilsner is giving me the worst...

Need a simple recipe for first try at all grain

    flat beer

I've been having a problem with some of my beers in a 5 gallon batch being flat. It started with a couple of beers in one batch, then a few more, now it is nearly 1/4 of my last 2 batches. I sterilize my bottles by soaking them in the tub overnight in a mild bleach solution. I read in "The Joy...
