    Astrophotography - The Rosette Nebula

Had the telescope out again for the last couple of days. This time I took an image of NGC6960, also known as "The West Veil" and also "The Witches Broom". It is faint parts of what is left of a Super Nova that exploded some 10000 years ago. It is part of what is called the Cigna Loop which is...

    What are you drinking now?

I'm drinking a home brewed Schwarzbier with a home smoked brisket cheese burger served on one of my home made cutting boards. 😁

Howdy - Newby here. Secondary fermentation, good or bad?

I haven't done what's called 'secondary' in many many years it's just not necessary. I leave my beer in its primary vessel for however long it takes, up to two or three months if necessary. Anything that requires longer than three months gets transferred to my kegs at that point and then...

    My woodworking hobby.

Longer than it should have - about 1-week elapsed time, but maybe about 40 hours total time not including waiting for all of the glue-ups to dry. I have made simple face surface cutting boards before (which are pretty quick and easy), but this is the first time I've tried making an end grain...

    My woodworking hobby.

Hey all, it's been a while since I have posted. Some of you may have seen my Astrophotography hobby thread (https://www.homebrewtalk.com/threads/astrophotography-the-rosette-nebula.729480/) But I also like doing woodworking as a hobby - I'm sure others here do also so post 'em up. 🙂 Anyway, my...

    Anvil foundry or propane?

Another AZ homebrewer here. I started brewing 29 years ago, extract on the stove 5-gallon batches - but I've been single my entire life, so no significant other to complain... But after two years of extract brewing, I moved to all grain and kegging. Back then AIO didn't really exist and I didn't...

    Astrophotography - The Rosette Nebula

LOL. I don't do any planetary imaging anymore, I guess Registax does a pretty good job at that. All of my stuff these days is DSO, and for that PixInsight is pretty much the best out there - but it better be at how much it costs...

    Astrophotography - The Rosette Nebula

I have used many. But I finally just spent the money and bought PixInsight as it is the gold standard. However, there are other free options that work very well also.

    Astrophotography - The Rosette Nebula

Nice! With little better focus, that image would be fabulously amazing! I also have a C 9.25 SCT, but I mainly use it for long reach galaxies.
