Some yeasts have very little CO2 activity. My favorite Red Star yeast "Cuvee" is like this. I have no experience with vodka yeast only "distillers" but I imagine there is different varieties just like wine yeast. As someone else said, taste it or buy a hydrometer. It will be fine for a few days...

Its probably gonna be a while before it tastes right, this can happen without nutrients. In my experience it does get better over time.

If you want a good bit of coconut flavor I would make a tea out of it and use that in your water for primary, and also add to secondary. Otherwise I would just put it in secondary for a week.

This is cool man I have never made fortified wine before but I love spiced cyber. Will give it a try! My newest kick is chamomile in secondary for any apple cyser, the tastes really accent each other.

Congrats I'm new too! Sir Benard is right on point with the difference between energizer and nutrients, I have both and the vitamin b and hulls are the only difference in ingredients with mine. From what I understand they are interchangeable.

I've made tea mead with chamomile and blue lotus before so I dont see why it wouldn't work with eral grey with a few modifications. Follow any regular hydromel recipe just sub the water for tea. I would not add any tannins as black tea has plenty already, and I would only use half as much acid...

Just finished a tart cherry mead myself! Using juice of course, I've had the same luck with OP with fresh fruits, with the same issue. Just make sure you don't add acid until after fermentation because that tart cherry is acidic as hell, I had to restart fermentation.

There are rubber sleeves you can buy that have stainless pipe clamps on each end that can tighten. Some even have adapters to pipe thread on one side that would be adaptable to whatever. I would check put your local hardware store, look in the plumbing section near the faucets. Hope I could help...
