How long to leave beer in corny keg under CO2?

I kegged a batch about 2.5 years ago and stored it in my Uncle's shed... inside a small fridge which hasn't been switched on... he has sadly passed away and I am going to get it soon... and I am keen to start brewing again... just wondering what condition the beer will be in and how safe it...

    Potential fix to oxidation issues?

Only got it last week Jello so nothing to really compare it to... I don't have any other kegs either... should I maybe turn the psi up to 30 and try and pour? 3m of 3/16 ,beer line surely wouldn't be the cause either? It worked to carbonate the beer well.... I really have no ideas what is going...

    Potential fix to oxidation issues?

I've tried that Jello... did it again whilst venting... do you think my regulator is broken? In my opinion the dip tube isn't clogged... it is just pouring really slow... Always wanted to visit Virginia Rick but unfortunately not 😂 the beer does not taste oxidised now after fully carbonation...

    Potential fix to oxidation issues?

Right... I have tried hitting the out post with co2 to clear the dip tube... hooked everything back up as normal and... still pouring really proper super slowly... I don't know what else I can do... I did when drunk manage to drop the co2 tank the other day and it damaged the other gauge (not...

    Potential fix to oxidation issues?

I did mean cold crash in the keg! 😂 Nice one regarding the science on the oxygen. I can live with the results for this batch... tho definitely want to perfect as much as possible going forward! I am familiar with brulosophy I have read quite a few of their articles... will check it out thank...

    Potential fix to oxidation issues?

I'll keep that in mind! Will give it a try on my next batch do you seal the keg with co2 first to create more pressure. I never though of doing it like that! Nice one. What do you think of the video showing my beer pouring does it seem to be going to slow? Thanks again Jello :)

    Potential fix to oxidation issues?

Ahhh I get you Jello kinda makes more sense! That's the bit I needed explaining the science that dictates the pressure. The spigot I am stuck with the size of that unless I get one with a bigger diameter. The hose I attached to it is 1 metre long. I am thinking about just getting a really good...

    Potential fix to oxidation issues?

Thanks Jerry! I haven't got a picture of it when transferring but I use the spigot like in this photo and instead of the little bottle I just run a line of silicon tubing fowj into the keg (I've only kegged once to be fair) and it takes for ages or doesn't pour at all and I need to turn the...

Bit of a noob question... can I take top off co2 tank?

I've recently got myself a kegging setup... and a fridge... only thing is it is a very tight fit.... and I don't have room outside to store the co2 cylinder.... basically... see the black bit on top of the cylinder above where you turn it on, the thing you hold to carry it around... is it safe...

    Potential fix to oxidation issues?

I think I'm going to stick with hefeweizen for a while... closed transfers might be worth looking into! That spigot thing is annoying me now... wonder if there is a way to get it to pour quicker and stop the obstruction... Takes ages to bottle beer with that little bottler thing during to...

Terrible beer... no head retention... help :)

Nice one thanks Lizard. I struggle with water volumes, etc. And never knowing I am squeezing the bag too much! If using 5kg of malt would you give me an idea of best mash volume/ batch storage volume? I am going to go back to basics. Just want to brew a really good hefe and stick with it...

Terrible beer... no head retention... help :)

Thanks for the info! It's amazing how different little things can affect head retention... I am going to look at water profile again cos my very first hefe was a lot better if I remember correctly and I added a fair amount of calcium chloride as well as some gypsum in a 2:1 ratio. I brewed it...
