I'll be frying a turkey in my BK on turkey day. Then bottle 5 gals of apfelwien and 5 gals of haus pale ale on Friday. Then brew a 5 gal batch of IPA using my same BK on saturday. It will probably get named TIPA (Turkey IPA)... :D

So I started mine two weeks ago, but my LBHS was out of the Montrachet wine yeast. They suggested champagne yeast instead, that it would be very similair. Well I pull a sample today, checked the hydro reading, right at 1.000 (OG was 1.060). Then proceeded to drink the sample. Kinda harsh...

I'm like a palmer right now, mostly cause I've read his book cover to cover a few times, and I'm still new and learning all the aspects of brewing. And so when I brew I tend to be kinda a perfectionist. I suppose when I get the process down I'll turn more into a Papa.

They are a local brewer in the PNW, and not knowing any better when I was 19 and my parents offered me a beer, I asked the dumb question... "So does it taste like salmon?" My older brother just laughed at me. I now know better. :cross:
