    I would get enough whisky back in the keg to keep any bad guys from growing. A good roll to coat the internals and dilute any of the sugar down so it is more alcohol than sugar will help.

    That will work fine. Wrap the bucket in towels for insulation and the ice or ice bottles will last longer.

    Mead is the long game of brewing. Patience is key. The staggered nutrient additions and removal of the co2 does help speed it along. PH balance is important as well. Lots of great guides out there nowadays.

    Yes this is important. I had a keg of home made wine that I thought had turned. Big slime mass in the picnic tap. The wine was great.
