Jockey box question related to untapping

Never got alerted to additional posts so I'm sorry for the delayed response. Yep, plate has 2 channels, 2 ports in, 2 ports out as you say. None of my guests would try to "help" in that way because they all know I can turn into a crazy woman when people mess with my stuff. Only time the lid was...

Jockey box question related to untapping

Great info, thanks!! I do have moving blankets so I can wrap them around and my lines from cold plate to keg coupler are a bit over 5' but my connection is a pass through vs a beer nut and split line (one less connection to deal with) so my plan was to put the kegs as close to the back of the JB...

Jockey box question related to untapping

And I should add, my preference will be my 55 and 35 gallon drums depending on what fits because both of those have drains in the bottom and are lined with stainless steel (they double as my electrolysis tanks) I'd love to get 2 sixtels in the 55 since I have the dolly for that too, but I don't...

Jockey box question related to untapping

Thanks for the info! As for keeping them cold, I have a 55 gallon plastic drum, a 35 gallon one and a big tub type thing that's not as tall but has a wider base. My plan was to drop them in one of more of the vessels, put ice blocks around them (I've been freezing some blocks that are about...

Jockey box question related to untapping

For my purposes this weekend, I'm going from my back yard to my basement but interesting question if it was going to be in the car or something. I guess since I don't brew (just consume) I don't know enough about the kegging part of things. I assume when beers are kegged, a certain pressure is...

Jockey box question related to untapping

Hi all, I have a plate chiller 2 tap jockey box that I will be using for the first time at a party this weekend. I know about packing the lines with beer before ice hits the plate, keeping the kegs cold since it's not a coil system etc, but it occurs to me I don't know what to do about...

CMB Ball lock QDs, wonky or just me?

thanks for that info! I have 16.2mm at the oring tho I cannot get one off in a fashion that I thought wouldn't scratch the heck out of the oring so I can't easily measure the oring slot itself on the post. Once I get some spare orings, I'll not worry about marring the current ones and take one...

CMB Ball lock QDs, wonky or just me?

Ah OK I see what you're saying. Do you happen to know the specs? I have calipers.

CMB Ball lock QDs, wonky or just me?

I would agree, that's why I went with these. They've done this since new so I don't think it's an o ring issue (I assume you mean on the post as the cmb ball locks don't have them, just the 4 balls that recess in to catch the post groove.

CMB Ball lock QDs, wonky or just me?

Hi all, When we built our keezer last year using EVA 4mm ID, I put ball lock posts on our sankey couplers and am using CMB ball lock QDs to Duotight 1/4" female flare/PTC fittings. I am not thrilled with the CMB ball locks, specifically on the gas side. It seems like tho the ball locks are...

Show me your fancy jockey box!

Can I revive this thread from way back as I'm thinking of building a jockey box. I won't have a good way to keep kegs chilled when in use so I thought I needed to go with coils but darn they're expensive. In reading this thread, can someone help me understand how you hook things up to have...

Question on acid cleaning for beer lines

I use micromatic alkaline blc and acid blc

Are eva 4mm ID lines too restrictive to clean 4 taps at once?

Thanks for that! Since I only have 2 kegs running at the moment, I'll probably cut those back 2', see how it goes, then go maybe 1' at a time to get down into the 6' range to be safe (can't glue them back together and tho I put unions on both legs of the pipe tower, I don't want to have to take...

Are eva 4mm ID lines too restrictive to clean 4 taps at once?

not sure what you mean, I'm not fudging anything. I already have the ball lock jumpers you mentioned (that's what we're talking about here) and I can't use the growler fill thing as I have perlicks, plus I take my taps off at each cleaning anyway and clean separately

Are eva 4mm ID lines too restrictive to clean 4 taps at once?

Huh I wouldn't think 9'ish (3m) vs my 10' would make much difference so interesting in that my GPH is almost 2x yours but who knows. @Bobby_M if there's pumps with 120psi do you worry about blowing the first few fittings (i.e. my first faucet to tube connection in the "tower"). I don't know...

Are eva 4mm ID lines too restrictive to clean 4 taps at once?

My pour rate from looking back to comments made when I set things up are in the 10 - 15 second range on a pint. I was never in a hurry and was satisfied with the head produced etc. I never thought to hook up the pump and discharged it into a pint glass and measure the time to see if it produced...

Are eva 4mm ID lines too restrictive to clean 4 taps at once?

Ah but using CO2. I don't actually know how to do that and it doesn't waste gas? I only have 1 5# tank that's on the hump.

Are eva 4mm ID lines too restrictive to clean 4 taps at once?

I just went back to my old thread where I had committed to cutting the lines back and then never did. So 10' is what I have. And yes, PTC connections so it's just a matter of putting the tool in to un-push. I run at 10 psi for the shandy/hefe types I've had on and then for the lager, I put that...

Are eva 4mm ID lines too restrictive to clean 4 taps at once?

I have them that long only because it was my first build and well, you can't make them longer once you cut them. I can definitely stand to take length off them and it'll help with wrangling lines in the cooler too since the copper pipe I have about 1' down into the cooler and then up into the...
