BrewPi@ESP8266, no need of RPI and Arduino.

Thank you. I can't get it to work, thou... I'm wondering... Can you access your HA with https? I'm starting to think this might be my problem. BPL don't support https, but my HA only answers to https... I might try to set up another HA to test... EDIT Stupid me! I didn't see the toggle to the...

I tried to search, but couldn't find anything, so I'm sorry if it's been answered before. Can someone please tell me how I connect BPL to Home Assistant? I have the Mosquito Integration up and running, but I don't know how to set up BPL. I have entered the information as shown in the image, and...

Sorry, probably a stupid question, but... What is considered long for a sensor line? 2 meters? 5 meters?

Interesting. I'm experiencing some drop outs of the room temperature on my latest build. I have 3v3 on the sensors. Are you saying that this might get better with 10k pull-up? How do you calculate this anyway?

    YABC-Yet a Brew Controller: BrewManiacEx

Hi. I am no expert at all with VS Code or PIO, but I have been poking around a bit, and have found out a few things. Depending on which version you want to run, you run Upload in the section in PIO. I use the sparge heater version, so I run this: PIO will then build and upload the image to the...

You don't need to use the flasher. You can use Visual Studio Code with the PlatformIO addon to do the flashing.

Just a note to @iduncant's answer, this is the newui version of BPL. There is also a classic which is less "sexy"... (or is that removed in v 4? I haven't checked v4, yet...) If you want to send the data somewhere, I can recommend Brewfather, which has integrations for both PBL and a lot of...

How can I delete a reply on this forum? My reply was incorrect, should be deleted... HELP! :)

    YABC-Yet a Brew Controller: BrewManiacEx

I seem to have "fried" my temperature sensors(?) I have some waterproof with 2 meter cable, and after my last test (I had them in my wort and sparge heaters while brewing two weeks ago), they have seemingly stopped working. I get a "CRC is not valid!" error in the monitor, which I believe means...

Cool! How is the wifi signal when you have it inside a steel box? (It looks like a steel box?) I am planning to build a "control box", but I am going for something of some kind of plastic.

I see you import water amounts in the mash profile. AFAIK beerxml doesn't support water. Which fields are you using? I'm importing beerxml-files from Brewfather, and they don't contain water... Perhaps you should have a chat with the developer of Brewfather?

    YABC-Yet a Brew Controller: BrewManiacEx

I have a newbie electronics question. I have wired up a BrewManiac on my breadboard, and in an attempt to keep it as simple as possible, I have mixed 3v3 and 5v to the components. Instead of using level shifters, I feed the PCF8574P with 3v3 on Vdd, the LCD is getting 5v on Vcc, but get SCL and...

I have connected two DS18B20 temperature sensors, but on the settings page, I don't see any of them. I'm still waiting for the PCF8574, but I guess it's not necessary to get the temperature sensors listed? I have flashed the env:spargeheater firmware. Nevermind, I had to use the LCD to set...

Thank you for your answer, pocketmon. I know I sounded a bit but hurt and harsh, but I really was a bit frustrated when writing:rolleyes:. I really like the project and would really like to get this working as the alternatives I have found isn't really interesting... What happened after I almost...

OK, thanks. I guess some resources will be saved if station only is used, and if it makes it more stable I will certainly do so. I guess you don't connect the iSpindel to BPL, or have I misunderstood something? I thought you needed PBL to be AP to do so? Do you connect BPL and iSpindel to an...

BrewPi@ESP8266, no need of RPI and Arduino.

OK, thanks. I have coupled it like this myself (except that I had, mistakenly, put 5V on the sensors), so then I guess it's something else (perhaps the 5V on the sensors? I'm changing that now...). I also have the same kind of OLED, but I'm planning on using 2004 LCDs when/if I install them for...

BrewPi@ESP8266, no need of RPI and Arduino.

Thanks for the input. My relay module has Vcc, In1,In2 and GND for the optocouplers, I guess this should be 3v3 (this is where I screwed up and put 5v). For the coils it has a JDvcc, Vcc and GND. To make them work with the jumper between JDvcc and Vcc, you need to put 5V on the opto coupler Vcc...

Boring!? :-) Well, the temperatures is not particularly interesting, but if you show them in a graph, I find it interesting. The interest may pass after a while, but for now this is one of the main reasons I'm looking at replacing my STC-1000 for something more "nerdy"... OK, I might try it...

BrewPi@ESP8266, no need of RPI and Arduino.

OK, I'm giving up. Now I have 3 NodeMCUs that boots (watchdog?) once I configure the wifi. This I not worth the time if it can't be fixed. I see this is one of the known issues, but if nobody wants/can/care about finding a solution, I'm moving on. Does anybody have a suggestion to a different...

Is it a good idea to set the network mode to Station only after the BPL has been configured if I dont plan on using the iSpindel? I'm thinking about the resource usage. I still have some reboots, and I think I have read somewhere that it might be the lack of resources that might cause this. I...
