BrewCommander - Impressive offering from John

That’s an interesting thought - the switched version. My perfect system would have the ability to heat the HLT while running the RIMs, that way I can fly sparge (3 vessel system). I’ll probably end up with two controllers because of this, but it just feels unnecessary. I’ve bought an extra temp...

Spike Conical- observations and best practices

I’m using a chest freezer, Johnson temperature controller, and heating pads. It keeps everything within 1f, year round. I’m sure Glycol is a great way to do it, but don’t rule out freezers totally. I got mine off craigslist for free and can ferment 25 gallons in it using 3 different conical...

BrewCommander - Impressive offering from John

Awesome! My LHBS can't log in to the new Blichmann portal, but mine should be ordered within the week once that's resolved. Please post your findings once you've used it a couple of times. -TC

BrewCommander - Impressive offering from John

I heard back from Blichmann, answers in bold: " - Will (1) controller and (1) relay allow me to power (2) heating elements independently from one another? For instance, can I use (1) element in a HLT and (1) in a RIMS, cycling on and off at different set values? No, the module is for use with a...

BrewCommander - Impressive offering from John

That’s very, very dumb. Their PCB should have at least (2) triggered outputs to control the SSRs, allowing them to be independent. The cost would be negligible, and I don’t need (2) sets of brains to control (2) elements. Seems like a no brainer to be honest. If the only point of the relay...

BrewCommander - Impressive offering from John

All I want is to be able to start heating my HLT while I'm asleep, mash in right when I wake up, and have it control a separate element in my RIMS for stepped mashes. So far it looks like this will do it. I'm hoping the relay module will allow me to control (2) separate elements...

    Show us your Kegerator

It's pretty great in the middle of summer. Right now I'm not too enticed by cold coffee in the morning... I'm still dialing it all in, but I will say that you shouldn't try to do cold brew coffee on nitro + C02 mix, carbonated coffee tastes gross. -TC

Yep, you guys are right. I can fit (6) kegs up top and (6) kegs on the bottom. The top area I use to carb and the bottom to serve. What you can't see are another (2) regulators for nitrogen - I do nitro cold brew coffee and nitrogen carb'd beers on occasion, too. I also chose to run the lines up...

***New Product*** 1.5" TC Yeast harvester WITH GAS/AIR EXHAUST PORT (Video)

Just bought the previous version too - it's been working great. This looks better. Can I get a quote for the upgrade? Edit: sorry, I was on your other page - I bought the C02 harvester. -TC
