It’s all gotta go. Inventory includes some equipment for brewing 5 to 10 gallon all grain batches. Refractometer, $5 Erlenmeyer flasks, $10 buckets, brew kettles, $20 and kegs.

Stepped it up once and now if I put an air lock on it for a while it starts bubbling. Very surprised it's alive after over a year in the back of the ice box. Looks like I brew tomorrow.

That's what I was thinking. I use a stir plate. Not sure how to judge viability after starter is started - take a gravity reading?

Does not smell bad. Is 16 months too long to keep a jar of washed yeast in the ice box? Thanks.

Just to throw another idea out there, you could brew a kolsch- low ABV, clean, light and popular.

Yeah, I worry about losing some in the storm but those that survive will make some tenacious beer, no?
