    Proper glass to serve Apfelwein?

BK, do you find the wein just doesn't bubble as much in a pint glass?

    Proper glass to serve Apfelwein?

What is the recommended serving glass style for Apfelwein? I've served in American style pint, Guinness Imperial pint, glass mug, and pilsner glass. I found the the pilsner glass allows for the bubbles to effervesce like champagne or a good pilsner sans head. The other three options seemed...

How many gallons of EdWort's Apfelwein have been made?

    9,213 + 5 = 9,218 :rockin:

Keg Connection dude was cool as hell..

Indeed a big thanks to Ben @ Keg Connection for being helpful. I wanted some customizations to one of their keg kits and they were most accommodating.

    Show us your Kegerator

Haha, ghetto! What would you have done? I've got some real handles on there now, but the important part is I was able to successfully pour pints when my order was missing the handles.

Just checking in with my new set up. Still need handles, drip tray, and to secure the lines a bit cleaner than they are now, but here she is. What I've got there is a used Haier 5 cu ft keezer, perlicks, 10' of 3/16" lines, and a 5# CO2 tank. The collar is 1x4 poplar stained with red oak.

At what temperature do you set your kegerator for serving?

Thanks SM, your response is exactly what I was looking for. I've got plenty of line and I'll be starting with 10'.

At what temperature do you set your kegerator for serving?

I'm going to be cutting my lines to size tonight. Using the excel sheet beer line length calculator and plugging in all the variables, with 3/16" line, I'm getting lengths much shorter than 10' for my desired temp/vol combo (in the 4 to 5' range). So if I may reiterate B-Dub's question...

    Corrado's in New Jersey

I just moved from Clifton last month. This is my primary LHBS, and they are useful at times. Invariably they are missing something I need. When I go there to get ingredients for a recipe, I bring 3 or 4 recipe ingredient lists and make the one that fits. It seems they are always missing...

    Keezer build questions

From reading other threads I've noticed that there isn't much concern in regards to insulation on the wood collars. Since I'm using 2x10 I'll be adding nearly 3cu ft to the keezer. Anyone think it warrants some extra insulation on the collar?

    Keezer build questions

Looks like attaching the collar to the keezer body is going to be the only option. Not looking forward to hoisting those kegs up 40".

    Keezer build questions

Obviously I'm not a carpenter... :drunk: What about a 2x10 or 1x10? Too tall?

    Keezer build questions

Uhhh, 2x8's are really only 2x7??? Wow, then this won't work at all. My measurements accounted for the lid protrusion, but not the missing inch on the 2x8.

    Keezer build questions

Hmm, I measured with the liquid disconnect and it looks like it might make it by 1/8". Do you have the same keezer? Any thoughts on using the 1x8 attached to the lid instead of the 2x8 not on the lid?

    Keezer build questions

Looking for some input from some of you that have built a keezer already. So I picked up a used Haier 5 cu. ft. chest freezer for $65 on CL. It wasn't my first choice in model, but it was priced right. So the inside is pretty tight, and the only way to fit in 2 kegs is to put one on the hump...

    Messed up my recipe

I've been brewing for a couple years, took a break for a year, and last week I got started again. I brewed an old reliable California Common extract/steep recipe I had, but wasn't paying attention when I brewed and dumped and extra 2 pounds of light LME in by accident. Ended up with a OG of...
