Can I use my beer pots for cooking other stuff?

I cooked pasta for 100 people for my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary in my 15 gallon kettle. Didn't hurt the taste of my beer that I brewed after that. It was a little strange firing up the brew kettle in front of the church though.

    How long an Extract Brewer?

I brewed extract kits for a little less than a year before I switched to all grain. I brewed store bought all grain kits for about 2 months before I started brewing my own recipes. I thought almost all the beers I brewed were really good but when I started using my own recipes, that is when...

Home brew club events. Ideas, and what does your club do?

The most fun thing our club does is a fantasy draft beer competition. It works just like fantasy football but you draft ingredients like you would draft players. Once someone drafts an ingredient no one else can use that in their beer. We have other competitions throughout the year to earn...

A not so successful Wit. What went wrong?

My target OG was 1.052 and target final was 1.016 which would be around 4.71% ABV. I ended up at 3.01%. I use a refractometer for OG and pre-boil. After fermentation I use a hydrometer. I made sure both were calibrated prior to use.

A not so successful Wit. What went wrong?

Today I bottled a witbier that I brewed 3 weeks ago and Im not sure exactly how I messed this beer up so badly. I used the BIAB method with my mill gap set at .018. I always get around 80% efficiency with this set up. My grain bill was: 5 lbs Belgian Pilsner 4.5 lbs Flaked wheat (did not run...

    Infected?

I know there are tons of these posts on the forums but I just want to hear it from the experts. I racked my cider out from under this and it doesn’t taste bad. Gonna let it age in secondary for a while and see what I end up with.

    Kolsch brewers best

I've found that every extract kit I ever brewed turned out darker than expected. Now that I've switched to all grain, they turn out the right color.

    First Time BIAB

If I get a 50 degree day this time of year I'm brewing for sure!!! Try insulating with a sleeping bag or a heavy blanket over your kettle and you should hold temps just fine. I brewed Sunday morning and it was 31 degrees here in West Virginia. I used a quilt, a sleeping bag, and reflectix and...

Northern Brewer Single Reconditioned Corny Draft System

Started drinking beer out of mine Sunday and I am very happy. I did add a hose clamp to the end of the hose with my picnic tap on it because it made me nervous not having one.

Northern Brewer Single Reconditioned Corny Draft System

I got that setup for Christmas and have a Vienna lager in it right now. I'm going to try the beer for the first time tomorrow. So far everything has worked great with this system. I will warn you that the keg might look pretty rough. Mine looks like it was dropped from a 3 story building a...

When to do diacetyl rest and how to warm up fermenter?

As far as when, I start ramping up my temperature as soon as my krausen starts to go down or the bubbling in my airlock slows.

When to do diacetyl rest and how to warm up fermenter?

I use a fermwrap, an old fridge and an Inkbird dual stage temperature controller and they work awesome!!! Gives you complete control over fermentation temps.

    Brewing Withdrawals

The same thing happened to me this year. I was very busy, short on money and then when I finally had the time and money I got sick. finally got my first brew day of the year in this weekend. The biggest problem I found with extended periods without brewing is the amount of empty bottles...
