CO2 tank size recommendation for 5.0 cu ft keezer?

My 2 cents, find out the cost to fill a 5 lb, 10 lb, and a 20 lb. and make your choice from their. For me, I started with a 10lb tank, now that just sits in my brewroom almost empty while my 20lb tank is hooked up. The 20 lb tank cost more to start with, however it was like 5 dollars more to...

What is your cutoff time of day to start brewing?

I have to say, hearing some of the times people start is interesting..... For me(BIAB'er here), I brew every other Friday. I start anywhere from 7AM to 9AM. finish up, start clean up ( I tend to soak my kettle) have lunch with the wife, then go and finish up around 1-2 PM. Then I sit down...

Needing a new Kettle for EBIAB. if possible.

No worries. I have a 10 Gal Spike. I love it, never thought I would need to go bigger, but unforeseen circumstances came up to where 10 Gal batches may need to be necessary. Now to your question about the false bottom. with my 10 Gal, I bought the false bottom from BrewHardware with the 5...

Needing a new Kettle for EBIAB. if possible.

I"m looking for suggestions on where and what to look for. I am looking into doing 10 Gal Batches ( instead of doing 5 gal batch, clean up, then do another 5 gal batch). I will only be doing 10 Gal batches 4-5 times a year. most of the time it will be just the 5 gal batch. So I'm trying to...

    troubleshooting gas leaks....

I ended up pulling out my manifold and sticking it in a bucket of water.... the valve I stuck on the manifold had small little bubbles coming from it. so I went with a new manifold, and no leak. interesting on how much co2 is used during carbonation.

@bracconiere , Scale was set to 0 before weight being read.I just got the scale, but have had my tank for about 7 months, so No way to weight it before hand. The place I exchange my tank from is a local small business, so hopefully they are honest. i did notice a lost of .2 ounces every 12...

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

You are doing 27 gal, which in theory should require more power to boil. So I’m thinking the power I’m using is correct, but adjustments can be made, in which I may need to do for the seasons…, I did grab a zip tie (stripped the papper off) and play with my tip….. I did run water through the...

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

All you use is ISO? I deal with ISO a lot, so I understand the drying properties, however not sure about the cleaning properties for minerials. Do you blow it off with a compressor?

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

My set up - 10g spike kettle, 240V system running a 550 element. Once boil is achieved I run at 20% power. I brew in my basement, ambient temp is roughly 68F. Not sure what my water temp is, head space is usually 3 gallons ( I usually start my boil at around the 7 gal mark. ). I use a Auber...

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

When looking into what size nozzle to use, should you also put inconsideration of water temp? I’m asking because my last 2 brews I have had issues with boil overs. First one was a nightmare, second one, I only lost about .10 gallons, before i shut the system off, swapped over to a 9gpm nozzle...

    First time kegging

thinking outside the box... you can naturally carb the beer, then you could use a jockey box to serve cold beer, however you will Red a steady stream of ice, be able to drain the box, to prevent a overflow. In turn you will be spending more on ice, and lots of time draining the box. are you...
