Would you bottle if your hydro looked like this?

Also, I used one packet of US56 yeast, no starter. Thanks again.

Would you bottle if your hydro looked like this?

so here's the ultimate newb question: Once you have stasis with your hydro, it's time to bottle? Thanks! P.S. I had 3 lbs of DME in there.

Would you bottle if your hydro looked like this?

It's been over 2 weeks since I pitched, and, like an idiot, I lost the recipe which had the target FG on it...

But also found this: Ingestion: May cause irritation of the digestive tract. May be harmful if swallowed. May cause nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, possibly with blood.

OxyClean delableing solution got on the inside of one of my bottles!

Just found this about the active ingredient in OxyClean: Sodium percarbonate has a low acute toxicity via the oral and dermal route (LD50 > 1000 mg/kg bodyweight). The existing animal data on acute toxicity show that sodium percarbonate has a local effect. In animal tests a slight irritating...

OxyClean delableing solution got on the inside of one of my bottles!

Is this bottle now toxic?? I feel strange filling beer into a bottle that previously had Oxy Clean in it. Do you think C Brite will Kill the OxyClean?

Slide show of my 2nd brewing day ever.

xflickrx's slideshow on Flickr Please let me know if you have any tips or seeing anything I'm doing wrong. Also, where can I find a Hydrometer calculator that will adjust for temperature? That is, what's my real OG if I got a 1.070 at 80 or 82 degrees? Thanks!!:mug:

Pouring in Priming sugar in and giving a good stir, good enough?

I would like to bottle right out of my primary fermenter that has a spigot on it. Of course, I'll hook up a bottling wand to the spigot to reduce oxidation. But I was wondering if I make a priming sugar solution and pour it into the top of the bucket with a few good stirs, if that is...

Is a second ferment necessary every time?

Fiddlesticks, the IPA recipe I'm making now calls for dryhopping. Is it a bad idea to throw pellets into the primary bucket to dry hop?

Is a second ferment necessary every time?

Whoa, this scares me. I guess that's why a transfer from bucket to carboy is really needed, because the bucket can handle the initial fermentation, and the 5 gal carboy can't. Good to know. So maybe I'll just leave it in the bucket the whole time. Is that a bad idea for any...

Is a second ferment necessary every time?

I'm getting ready to do my second batch ever, and I'm thinking of just throwing the wort in the carboy first, rather than having it in a bucket for 2 weeks and then the carboy. Should I continue to do a second ferment, or let my laziness prevail? Thanks! :cross:

Slide show of my first brewing day ever.

I was sure to get the temp down to the upper 70s before pitching the yeast. I used that little bit of ice, which was quickly gone, and then poured cold water on the outside of the pot for about an hour (!) as I rotated it.
