    Chocolate in mead

I was one of the OP's in the chocolate mead experiments. Since our first experiments I've made two additional 5 gallon batches using the Nesquick. Same recipe used for both batches but different techniques have cause slightly different outcomes. Using the powder and mixing well you'll notice...

    Our Chocolate Mead Experiment

We've not tasted our original batch since New Years. We wanted to give it some time in bottle age and mellow out. Will probably be New years before we tap another bottle.

    what's this?

Looks like it didn't clarify completely. How long did it sit in secondary prior to bottleing. This has happened to me on most of my early meads

Mayan Calendar End of the World

We were just sitting around having some homebrew Lemongrass, that was excellent, and started talking about a get together. We started throwing ideas out there and thought, Very tongue in cheek, about the 2012 End of the World party. What kind of design theme, music selection, food, and of...

    Hand Corker

I used my single level corker for the first few small batches I made, and it wasn't bad for 10-15 bottles. More than that and it starts getting hard on the hands. IF you're only doing a couple batches a year and IF it's less than 3 gallons a hand corker would be fine, IMHO. Anything more...

    welches wine question

I'm currently on my 5th batch of Welches wine (3 six gallon and two 3 gallon batches) I've used the cote des blancs, EC-1118 and D-47. The D-47 didn't ferment out as complete and left some residual sweetness making for a better drinking wine, ABV was about 12% The others have both...

    Our Chocolate Mead Experiment

    1. just regular powder, As a tip it will blend better in warmer water 2. We haven't added anything yet, but have discussed many options. One was strawberrys, we also considered some kind of nut flavoring, or maybe orange. If you do the strawberry keep us updated. D
