    Electrical Connection at Element Enclosure

I pulled the trigger on this connection and installed it. So far pretty happy with it. Figured I'd post a follow up and post a few pics for future reference.

    Electrical Connection at Element Enclosure

What do you guys think of adding one of these to my element enclosure to make the cord removable? My element is a 1500watt 120v. Think it is an adequate connector for the load? Think it would be protected enough from small spillage...

    120v Brew Panel Switch

Ok I'll get the 30A if it's available and not crazy more expensive. Augiedoggy - I wish I took a pic, it was straight up melted. The package I got from ebay had a few and I tried another, to eliminate the possibility of it being faulty. It did the same thing. I used crimp spade connectors and...

    120v Brew Panel Switch

OK I was hoping to get a toggle switch but maybe I should just forget that and get one of these. https://www.homedepot.ca/en/home/p.sgl-pole-switch-20-amp-120277v--white.1000159442.html

    120v Brew Panel Switch

I'm having problems with my switch that cuts off power to my element. and I want a backup switch instead of relying on the SSR alone. My panel is 120v and I'm using a 1500w element. It should draw 12 to 13 amps. I had a cheap ebay china switch rated for 15A but it melting them. I want to get...

1500w HLT, Brew panel on 15A circuit?

I think I'm pushing the limit a bit, but who thinks that a 15A (120v) circuit should be able to handle a 1500w element, a 2 PID brew panel, and two cheap 12v ebay pumps (link below)...

    Inline GFCI location and Product

The pictures seem to just be universal i think. I'm not sure if I plan to have the pump integrated into the panel anyways. I already have a small mini panel for my pump.

    Inline GFCI location and Product

Ok so I was doing some more thinking and I want to go with a 20 Amp, 240 Volt, inline GFCI Found one here: http://www.gfcistore.com/20-amp-inline-gfcis.html I was going to downgrade to 4000w to allow for a 20a breaker Versus a 5500w element it seems to take 5 or 10 mins longer to reach a...

    Inline GFCI location and Product

I was thinking the online cord I was sourcing wasn't going to match the stove outlet. But that i could make it match the element. Not sure it that's going to be the case anymore, but gives options if it is

    Inline GFCI location and Product

I guess you're right. I just assumed based on the 30 Amp rating and the plug shape looked like a 240v. Something like this would probably be more the right thing. https://www.acklandsgrainger.com/en/product/INLINE-GFCI-EXTCRD-3FT-YELLOW/p/GGE2XYT1?analytics=searchResults So whats the...

    Inline GFCI location and Product

Hey all I've been looking to switch to electric brewing. Was wondering if anyone has used inline GFCI protection before? I was thinking of using this product https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B002OUZK7W/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 Think it would be adequate? And would it be okay to be...

    STC 1000 Problem

You know it came with a piece of paper that i guess where the instructions/manual. You would think it would tell you this .... all it had to say was NC means "normally closed" and it wall would have made sense

    STC 1000 Problem

Thanks for the detailed response Ray. I fully understand the wiring. Like I said I have successfully made 2 STC's for ferm chambers in the past. This time it had that extra NC lead and it was throwing me off a bit. I ordered a waterproof electronics project box off ebay for mine :)

    STC 1000 Problem

Seems strange that a chinese product would add an additional wire spot (ie add costs) when they didn't have to if there isn't a purpose.

    STC 1000 Problem

I have made 2 STC 1000 units is the past. The other day I received another one I order off ebay and have a bit of a problem. It has 3 wires for the heating and cooling leads. I'm a little confused as the other 2 i have only have 2 wires. Anyone else have any experience with this? I'm thinking...
